Personally, I didn't have a particular problem with Bruno's comment but I think the point is that saying "we expect nothing and we get nothing from you" goes beyond saying she can't dance. "Nothing" implies she gives nothing - no ability, no effort, no entertainment. Although I agree she has little talent for dancing, I personally think she does make a great deal of effort (more, arguably than those fitting in the odd hour round other commitments) and I personally find some entertainment in her efforts and her partnership with Anton. So going beyond the scope of critiquing her lack of dance ability does seem harsh and not all that honest either.

I do think Judy is more than capable of brushing away any Bruno insults whether real or unintended. She seems pretty popular and isn't exactly trying for a career in showbiz so I expect its water off a duck's back compared to the abuse she's had over the years as a tennis mum.

It did rather give the impression that he'd decided that the dance was going to be crap before she did it, which the judges probably should avoid doing where possible, because it kind of makes the dancing element of the show seem unimportant. You know, more so.

Also, if he thinks Judy's dancing is terrible why not give her some constructive advice on how to make it better rather than just dismissing her altogether? For me, good judging involves giving good advice where you can spot mistakes/weaknesses in the dancing.

I think there's a lot of difference between telling someone their dancing simply isn't up to standard and telling them they give nothing, which is what he expects.
