All the people throwing their toys out of their pram over The Master changing genders and so The Doctor may also do the same one day.

First of all let me thank you for giving me the best laugh I've had in along time it's some of the funniest things I've ever read.

Dave Gorman could do a found poem from this forum alone.

The whole point of dr who is that rules can be broken and everything rewritten.

Personally I don't want the doctor to change sex in the future. I was hoping missy was romana. If the master can come back then why not Romana?

Yup. I often don't bother going online to Doctor Who forums until the day after an episode has aired, but I just knew tonight would be a must-read.

Totally agree. At times its as though some fans think the show as a concept was established and stayed the same the whole of it's history, when it's constantly been evolving year by year., story by story. As a fan you have to be open to change and evolution of the show, if you aren't then it really is not the right show for you.

Doesn't mean you have to like every change, of course, but equally to try and claim that the show is destroyed for ever because of how it continues to develop is bizarre, imho.

Where`s that thread "My opinion is so important it deserves it`s own thread"?

We know from the RTD era, and from TDOTD that The Doctor was not on Gallifrey when it was destroyed/ hidden from the Daleks.

The Master (Derek Jacobi incarnation) said he "ran away when he was resurrected by the Timelords", so he was not on Gallifrey either.

Presumably there might be other timelords somewhere who did not return to gallifrey for the Time war, which is quite a useful plot device for the writing team

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with a female Master, and I'm sure that Michelle Gomez will continue to play the part spectacularly. The reveal, on the other hand, was pretty lazy. Still, that didn't stop me from loving the episode before that.

because no-one cares about Romana.

I thought everything about the episode was wonderful, I couldn't really give a crap about The Master being a woman. It doesn't really make a difference at all except the fact that he/she can kiss the Doctor without getting complaints about a gay kiss.

The actress was magnificent as well, I actually prefer her to Jon Simm actually.

I wouldn't say that, I think she's the kind of classic series character who could plausible come back and would resonate with a portion of the audience. But in the context of being a massive huge surprise returning character, I'd agree it's not likely to wow the audience.

I really like Simm in series 3, even if the episodes he appeared in where diminishing returns, but didn't care for his take in the specials. I thought Gomez was great too - i really loved how she sold the android persona to The Doctor, for example, and her look is very strong and distinctive.

LOL! Superb!”

Can we discuss Steve Jobs as a Cyberman being controlled by an iPad?

That's so much more interesting

My teenage daughter has watched some classic who and loved Romana. I see no reason why a younger audience wouldn't like her.

Michelle Gomez is brilliant casting. Love her.

Hopefully people will calm down a bit. But nowt wrong with a bit of passion. The Master clearly agrees. The sly little snogger.

(Never written *that* sentence before!)

Sod the Master, Moffat has ruined this show regardless of this silly twist. Yes I have an opinion and yes some people love this series and love moffat.
So carry on watching then !

I however am teetering on the edge of switching off for good (or at least till moff goes) .
Just hoping somehow next weeks episode redeems the show, for me.

I said on Twitter they would be people threatening never to watch again - well done for meeting my expectations...

The Master is NOT a woman

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moffat is stirring the fanpot. Dont fall for it! The earlier story about miniaturisation technology is a forerunner to revealing that MISI is not the master per se but either an android or the Masters Tardis a la Drs Wife. Inside MISI will be revealed the miniturised MAster poss played by that chap from From Hell or perhaps Charlie Dance. It came to me as a moment of inspiration, clicking into the Moffat Modus operandi. Thne Dr felt two hearts cos the Master is inside, it also explains that odd ep with Clara inside a dalek now we know placed there by the Master......My genius is unsurpassed!

I hope they don't backtrack on this because people throw their toys out of the pram .

Once again the ones who scram and rant the loudest and throw a tantrum will get their way .

If you think the fallout on here was bad just imagine how bad it will be when the tabloid hacks get hold of it and that goes double for all the business with death in the episode

The 'tabloid hacks' will at worst say that the Steve Jobs joke was a bit inappropriate, then go back to warning us about how anyone who's ever been near a child is a paedophile and that everything including the air will kill us!
