I said on Twitter they would be people threatening never to watch again - well done for meeting my expectations...
Not me dear. I never said I would not watch again

Still finding it funny.

Where else could you get a serious argmunt that The Doctor should not change gender (or colour) because they wouldn't /shouldn't do that to Queen Victoria or Martin Luther King in a historical film/tv show

As I said in another thread, people are having trouble separating fiction from reality.

I hope they don't backtrack on this because people throw their toys out of the pram .

Once again the ones who scram and rant the loudest and throw a tantrum will get their way .
The second part, just like the one we saw tonight, was written and filmed months ago, so they couldn't change it now even if every fan in the world said they would stop watching. The only way part 2 will backtrack is if that was always planned, which I, like you, hope doesn't happen as I like this master already

I'm just glad Moffat didn't bring back the Rani.
Anyway, I think most of us, once we heard the name "Missy", had a sneaking suspicion she'd turn out to be The Master/The Mistress, but we weren't quite sure if Moffat would go there or not.

And now we know. Moffat would.

I've not seen a good argument for why the Doctor or the Master shouldn't be female. It mostly seems to boil down to 'because I don't like it!'. Of course, gender nor race makes any difference to either character or how they were written.

The only thing that's changed is the kiss and quite frankly that was a bit of silly laziness on Moffat's behalf that wasn't needed. It would've been far more interesting if they'd let that happen whilst he was still male rather than going down the safe route.

If gender makes no difference to the way the characters are written, why would a male Master kissing a male Doctor be more interesting? Surely you are heading down the road of gender does make a difference and adds interest and therefore presenting the good argument you haven't seen?
