I said on Twitter they would be people threatening never to watch again - well done for meeting my expectations...

Still finding it funny.
Where else could you get a serious argmunt that The Doctor should not change gender (or colour) because they wouldn't /shouldn't do that to Queen Victoria or Martin Luther King in a historical film/tv show |

I hope they don't backtrack on this because people throw their toys out of the pram .
Once again the ones who scram and rant the loudest and throw a tantrum will get their way . |

I'm just glad Moffat didn't bring back the Rani.
Anyway, I think most of us, once we heard the name "Missy", had a sneaking suspicion she'd turn out to be The Master/The Mistress, but we weren't quite sure if Moffat would go there or not. And now we know. Moffat would.

I've not seen a good argument for why the Doctor or the Master shouldn't be female. It mostly seems to boil down to 'because I don't like it!'. Of course, gender nor race makes any difference to either character or how they were written.
The only thing that's changed is the kiss and quite frankly that was a bit of silly laziness on Moffat's behalf that wasn't needed. It would've been far more interesting if they'd let that happen whilst he was still male rather than going down the safe route. |
