I'm afraid you are . I knew who was out earlier on and checked back to see who else was in the dance off and found out straight away going from the last thread .

I mean really which is worse having no spoiler or just spending a few minutes checking ?

If you don't like the way it is currently, there is nothing to stop you putting the necessary effort in, finding a "mole" and doing your own spoiler thread and placing whatever restrictions you like upon it.

As it is, the existing thread goes from strength to strength each year, is followed by UK bookmakers who use the result to form their markets, and is generally enjoyed by everyone who logs in to it.

C'mon - you REALLY don't have the wit to click & jump to the end of the thread and thus avoid having to "wade through 20+ pages of garbage"? #abigailsmumrulesOK

Yes, it does seem daunting doesn't it? I always start at the end. Mind you, after I know who is out, I go back through because some of the post are hilarious and a joy to read

No need for you to be shot for it but I'm just going to analyse the attitude that I perceive:

You like the spoiler thread. You read it so you can probably assess that a couple of regulars go to considerable trouble to find and communicate with their moles so that the spoiler is available. However, the organisers are not providing you with the spoiler in the format that you - and others - want. It is being provided in a way that the organiser and plenty of other forum members are entirely happy with. They are enjoying themselves in an inoffensive way that you don't like. So they should moderate their behaviour to give you what you want. Fair analysis?

Misery? Perhaps. Another person unwilling to put a bit of effort in to get what they want? Definitely.

If there are a group of members who just want to go to one post to read something they want, why don't you band together, set a rota, and take it in turns on a Saturday night to check the spoiler thread? Wouldn't be hard work to do that, would it? Then you post your chat-free spoiler thread, marked as such. One person puts the 10 minutes of effort in for the benefit of others. You could do that, couldn't you?

But you won't. It'll require a bit of effort on the part of those who want it their way. Easier to criticise and have a moan.

Just so I'm clear, I see absolutely no reason for the people who organise the spoilers and format the spoiler thread the way they want it to make any changes. And if it starts on Fridays, so what? I scroll on past the majority of the Strictly threads all week, so I can't see what is so arduous about ignoring one thread for the 24-36 hours before you want it.

Threads that are not posted on soon drop off the front page. As the spoiler thread is a bit off topic it wont get pinned, so having the chat keeps it on page 1. Someone tried to get a spoiler only thread going a while back, forumites just flooded it with silly comments, got bored & it disappeared.

I often stay spoiler free, but on the weekends when I want to know, I leave as late as possible (or the next morning) then click through pages until i reach 11pm posts. It's normally easy to find

Of course, another solution is for the OP to just stop being a miserable git!!!

I love the spoiler thread

It doesn't matter how early it's started, we know the spoiler won't be up until after 10pm...so just go straight to last page after that time. I've never had trouble finding it and am grateful that there are people who take the trouble to let us know.

People on here were organising moles and posting the spoiler long before the spoiler thread turned into 3 days of off-topic chatter.

And anyone who complains about having to look on page 2 for a thread is frankly a bit lazy, never mind that the spoiler thread never did disappear.

Maybe I'm just nostalgic for the days when we dissected the dances in the spoiler thread rather than caring more about party food pr guessing what time the spoiler will come in....

Personally I find the spoiler time guessing quite good natured and good fun.

However, there is nothing to stop you discussing the dances in the spoiler thread - we do that extensively after the result is in and personally I would be quite happy to do so earlier. I am not really into virtual food but if others are and derive enjoyment from it then let them eat their (virtual) cake.

A couple of years back we did try the Spoiler only thread and the regular spoiler thread at the same time - it caused much confusion and ended up making more folk fed up with the endless switching of threads. I think it only lasted a week and the idea was ditched quite swiftly!

I'll try to remember to post the result at the top of each page next week, however it is a good fun thread to dip into. For many reasons a lot of us can't get out on Saturday night (mine is because I have children) and it is a lovely social thread before the result and once the result is known there is respect for each other's opinions and some great discussions develop.

I just went to the spoiler thread to find the result.... and it's more like seconds to find lol

I thoroughly enjoy the thread, it's the friendliest on DS,

if you don't want to wade just to about page 20, it's usually about there xx

This, if you wish to know the result of the spoiler, do one of the following

1. Jump to the end of the thread and work your way backwards until you get the spoiler

2. Start at page one and notice the page navigation to the right side of the Add Reply button, note as well, each post has a time and date it was posted, the result is generally known between 21:00 to 23:30, just jump pages using the navigation until you get to the spoiler result.

However doing this means you miss out on one of the joys of the DS Strictly Forums, your loss I suppose.

I will second that! The spoiler is one of the best threads on this forum ....imo of course....
