Should Zoe replace Tess as the main host of Strictly?

So where's the poll to vote on?

In any case, it should be "Would you like to see Zoe replace Tess?" because the public will have no say in it.

The poll is at the top?
Not sure I understand regarding the phrasing of the question.

No she should replace Claudia. She is more natural than try hard Claudia and more unassuming

Should Zoe replace Tess?

Yes, and Tess replace Mrs Winkle...then imho the Beeb would have a credible Saturday night show again.

Somebody should replace Tess.

Pity you didn't leave it at that.

To be fair, she's not hopeless- I've never said that. But I'm always left thinking it could, and should, be better than it is.

It seems a few here are on self distruck mode, never ever happy, get rid of Bruce, change a judge, get rid of Tess or Clauida.

Relax, enjoy it as it is, the ratings are the best LE show on TV are strong, everyone is different its a great show and everyone contributes.

I vote for stopping these threads.

I agree. Would those who start these polls like a poll on if people thought they should be replaced in their job? I doubt it.

And the reason for "would you like" instead of "should" is because "should" means it ought to happen, and "would you like" is asking just for opinions, which is all anyone not making the decisions can do.

I think the result of that poll would be obvious, a resounding Yes I would guess.

Yes, so long as Tess replaces Claudia and makes a welcome return to the Tesspit.

But Janet- You went on and on and on about wanting to be rid of Bruce.

So you can hardly complain if posters dislike someone else.

Not having a lot of knowledge on this, but wondering if Tess is just doing as she is directed by the PTB. When she replaced Bruce a couple of times last season, she did very well, she was there in a non intrusive way, and the show flowed beautifully. The change has only happened this season, which leads me to believe that she is directed to to present in the way she does. I also think she is uncomfortable doing so. Hope that makes a modicum of sense to some

Claudia is naturally witty, Tess is naturally shouty and annoying so although I'm not a huge fan of Zoe she is infinitely better than Tess.

I don't think that anyone should replace Tess. She is a good host.

It does make sense.

She was fine if she had someone to lean on (Bruce)- but not out on her own.

In just the same way you have some comedy double acts (because they bounce off each other) and some stand up comedians.

Would Morecambe have been any good without Wise? No. And Wise (the straight man) really struggled once his partner was gone. So- as 'straightman' to Bruce's comedy she was fine- but not strong enough to be out on her own.

Wanting him to retire because he was unable to do the job any more due to age and mentally agility thereby ruining the reputation he once had plus the risk of him actually dying in the middle of a live show, is a bit different to wanting to get rid of someone just starting out. I saw it with Tommy Cooper and I didn't like it - I don't ever want to see it again, and the risk was definitely there.

Bruce use used to be good, but he no longer was. Tess is still learning. I'd have given him a year to learn the ropes, just the same as I will her before I give my opinion (and it's nothing more or less than that). And I don't remember using the word "should", but I'm sure someone will bother to find that I did.

Besides which, it's not up to viewers - it's up to the BBC as they demonstrated with keeping the previous presenter - regardless of who thinks the person is incompetent/ruining the show.

So polls are a waste of time.

I see, so basically, your opinion is the only one that matters because you are (stamps feet, pouts lips) RIGHT. You should read that back and think about how you come across.

I love Zoe, really like Claudia and don't mind Tess. I think Zoe did a perfect job last night, but I wouldn't want her to take over from Tess if it meant she left ITT - enjoy Zoe too much on that show and shes really good with the banter with the couples. I think shes more suited to ITT or up interviewing the couples after their dance as shes naturally witty and good at interacting with them. She'd be wasted as the main presenter. I'm not really fussed who does the main presenters job - they're only really introducing the couples and will be forced to read a rubbish pre-scripted gag regardless of who gets the job.

And that would only be a guess because you cannot prove it. Even if your little poll did show a majority agreeing with you, i would be meaningless because DS posters are only a minuscule number of the millions who watch the show.

Among my friends, Tess is very popular and so is Claudia, but then they're only my friends and may not be typical of most viewers just as DS posters my not be typical. So taking my friends in place of you, the result of your poll would be a resounding no.

Look, it's my poll. I said I would have guessed at a resounding Yes for a 'Tess to go' poll, which is why I did not post that poll. It is my opinion. Am I allowed an opinion in your little world?

No, my opinion isn't the only one that matters because is just that - my opinion. Just as your opinion is just that - your opinion.
If you actually knew me, you'd know that I have never stamped my feet or pouted my lips. I just think ( and that's just MY opinion) is that anyone who thinks they can change things is deluded. How you think I come across is how YOU think I come across and it bothers me not at all. It will not affect my life in any way.

Now who's stamping their feet and pouting?

Said in a playground singsongy type voice no doubt. You have contradicted yourself and now you are starting to look silly. Just leave it there. Thanks for bumping my Poll though.

Every thread does not have to be about ratings. I prefer Zoe to Claudia. Zoe worked better with Tess last night and the show flowed better
