Is she sexy?
I find her somewhat sexy but I'm not sure if she's meant to be sexy or not.

At any rate, a vast improvement over John Simms.
By the end, I found him sooo annoying - all that stuffing-his-face-with-chicken and cloning himself 7 billion times. Ugh!

But I love Joan Sims version of the Master.

Nah! She's dicking with you all. She's really Rani.

I just wish they didn't change her name to Missy/Mistress. The Master would still be fine for a female version of that character.

Other than that, she's great.

Surely she should still be called The Master as originally I thought the character was named as such in keeping with the academic name 'The Doctor

And she IS sexy

It's possible the Master/Mistress was picked because using the Rani might require the Beeb paying fees to to Pip Baker and Jane Baker's estate. Mind you, this doesn't
sound like something that would bankrupt the DW budget...

(She's not the Master/Mistress of the Land of Fiction either-THAT would have
been off-the-wall....)

Doesn't bother me having a female Master(though I wouldn't want the same for the Doctor).
Actually when she said Missy short for Mistress I thought for a minute it was going to be Romana gone insane.”

That's exactly what I thought as soon as she said abandoned my mind went straight to Romana and espace

This thread should almost certainly have been named "The Master IS a woman"

Never underestimate the value of a good appreciation thread! The DW: Extra feature only has me more excited to see what becomes of this

Love Missy and I can't wait to see how she works tomorrow!

Hopefully she'll be a nutter, which is exactly what the Master should be!

I welcome this thread, it has got completely lost and unnoticed Michelle Gomez's portrayal so far. Albeit we have yet to see that much of pre Death in Heaven yet. But I am very happy with her, a great choice as this is pretty much how I would expect the manic Master character to be. So it's all good so far.

I am glad that Moffat chose Michelle Gomez for the part of The Mistress. She is quite a unique actress in her look and style, I am looking forward to the finale and hope she reappears as the character again.

On the right side of maniac genius for me if you get what I mean..I did like John Simm though, but maybe it went too far that time when he took over earth and everyone was the master, hehe, amusing though!

Who wants to see The Master with a hula-hoop? Okay.

The BBC have a message for the upset.

The Master escaped from time locked Gallifrey,
Hitch-hiked his way across the galaxy,
Plucked his eyebrows on the way,
Shaved his legs then he was a she,
She said Timelords...Take a walk on the wild side,
Said hey Doctor...Take a walk on the wild side.

Pretty simple really, I just forget that pantomime villain ever existed ands its hello Mistress......................

I've just took on the entire I hate Missy fanclub... There ruthless, but their arguments are so paper thin that it's pretty easy to win the battle.

Soon all shall love Mistress.... so say something nice.

Okay then. This is categorically the first actor playing the part that I have actually rather fancied. The eyes have it. And the cheekbones. Oh yes.
