Time to give Simon a break???
I felt sorry for him last night and enjoyed his dance. Yes he is not exactly Mr. Personality but he seems a nice guy.
What do we think???

I would have but thought a Simon vote was a wasted vote. I voted for Sunetra. I have been splitting my 6 votes.

I've always liked Simon and Kristina (they're my third favourite couple). I was quite surprised when they were in the first dance off and presumed it was just a one-off because they were middle of the board....I didn't come on this forum till last week and was surprised again at how unpopular they are on here too. Simon comes across as a nice guy to me, he always seems genuinely pleased for the others when they do well. I don't think hes arrogant...actually I think he may be a bit shy, and tries to overcome this by constantly making funnies. I'm not sure why they're unpopular ...is it their dancing? Is Simon not liked as a person? Or Kristina? I guess we all see different things. They're not my favourites, but I like them both and have thought a few of their dances have been really good.

He's definitely not the worst by a long shot. I can't understand why he doesn't get more public support.

Nice thread Op. I would have voted for him last night but my votes were limited
![]() I will vote for him next week IF he manages to escape the bottom two today. I really hope so. He's working so hard, seems like a nice guy and I want him and Kristina to go further

He'll end up taking someone else out next week...if he gets to stay in tonight. He's this series Lisa Snowden...

He might make it to the quarterfinals with a bit of luck, but perhaps it is best for him if he is up against one of the favourites soon and goes out. Better that then taking out all the other mid-tablers on the way to the quarters and going for a record number of dance-offs.
Mind you, he does have the advantage of having still got all the party latin left. So, if he can get to Blackpool at least, he should do very well with the judges (but still probably only 4th/5th place). |

While I've quite liked some of his dances, this is the 1st week I've warmed to him. Seems he took a "personality" step back this week, allowing me to see a gentler, less forceful character, hope he continues like this, as a dancer it's not his time to go yet (IMO)
I do try to base my opinions on dance ability rather than personality but sadly we humans will always be swayed by who we like/dislike! |

I have been rooting for him but am now giving up hope
![]() He has the ability but he cannot act and he simply does not follow through with his movements. I wish he'd learn to 'finish', understand extension and collection and use the floor more. I wish he'd stop racing on to the next step and forgetting to finish the move he has started and get his transitions right. I also want to remind him he is dancing with a partner and it helps to pretend you are 'in tune' with them and throw them the odd glance. Yep, Dear Miss K is not everyone's cup pf tea and it would be hard for him to emote with her, but he has to pretend! Shame to see someone not quite reach their potential. It's the frustrated (no longer) dance teacher in me. I want him to be good! Kristina is not getting through to him. |

He strikes me as quite a sensitive guy and I like him.
But there's distinct lack of 'togetherness' between him and Kristina when they perform. That's nobody's fault, it's just one of those things. Their partnership hasn't really fused. To me, they're two people who happen to be dancing together but they're not really a dancing couple. |

I voted a couple of times for him in the hope that it will help keep him out of the bottom two.
I don't think Kristina's the right partner for him though. |

Perhaps Aliona should've had Smon and Kristina should've had Gregg?

I like him too and think he's been somewhat misunderstood - I don't think he's arrogant just somewhat reserved. I doubt very much if he'll reach the finals but I hope he out lasts Alison, Judy and definitely Scott. I like Alison and Judy but really think Simon deserves to stay longer than them. If I had my way I'd like him to outlast Mark as well but unfortunately I can't see that happening

I agree it's a shame that he keeps ending up in the dance off. I thought his dance last night was good - he's not up there with the top dancers, but he's still good.

Another one here who likes him and couldn't understand why he got such a hard time on here.
Last night I thought his Paso was better than Jake's I loved the shapes, lines and aggression in the routine and thought it a shame he "messed" up just before the end. If he had kept it together it would have up there as being one of the best Pasos I've seen in the series so far. Nice thread OP.

I put a vote his way last night. I can't stand Kristina and have never voted for her but I don't think Simon deserves to be in the bottom two again.

He's pretty good. Not great. Not a winner. One of those who one feels really ought to be better than he is. But I'm not sure Kristina is the best teacher.
I'm not agin 'im. |

I sent him some votes last night. I think he has the potential and has produced some good dances, the jive and charleston were great. Much rather he stay in than many of the others and think he has been consistantly undermarked.
