So it seems Pixie Lott is releasing her first greatest hits album in November: http://pixieweb.org/2014/10/27/pixie...e-november-24/

I must say it comes as a bit of a shock. She released an album in August and then releases a GH a few months later? Makes no sense. Here's the tracklist:

1. Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)
2. Boys And Girls
3. Cry Me Out
4. Gravity
5. Turn It Up
6. Broken Arrow
7. Coming Home (feat. Jason Derulo)
8. All About Tonight
9. Kiss The Stars
10. Nasty
11. (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher And Higher
12. Break Up Song
13. I Got Love For Xmas *NEW SONG*
14. Caravan Of Love *NEW SONG*
15. Use Somebody

It feels like a desperate attempt from her label to cash in on her strictly popularity. Either that or them quickly trying to get her out her contract..

Sounds like both

Considering how poor her last two albums have done, they are likely eager to get rid of her but perhaps do not want to drop her but finish off contractual obligations. If a GH is released, it normally signals an end of a contract prior to resigning or leaving all together.

I think they'll release this to fulfill her contract then let her go. The new songs will be leftovers from the last album.

It's a shame as she got off to a great start but whatever "magic" her debut album had (it was a good debut album) was lost on the 2nd and 3rd albums.

I don't even recognize half of those "hits", at least not by name.

Looking at those hits, and their position on the Official UK Charts

Use Somebody - Released twice - numbers 51 and 41
Coming Home - number 51
No listing for Break up song or Higher and Higher
2 new songs, cannot yet be called hits

Maybe she should have left out the word hits in the title.........

I think so too, sadly.

She should have put Lay Me Down and What do you take me for on it and just called it a Singles Collection

This makes me think of the recent Modern Life Is Goodish episode about what constitute greatest hits. Really there are maybe 6 hits there, the first 5 and All About Tonight.

This is the label burning off her contract without having to pay for more sessions/promotion since she doesn't sell well anymore. I am sure she'll get work on the West End circuit though.

Exactly. I notice those songs were missing from it. Why were Coming Home, Use Somebody and Higher and Higher on it? Higher and Higher was a B-side to Nasty.

They know she has had her 15 minutes, So they are probably getting her contracted number of albums released so they can get rid of her

And they will be thinking now is as good a time as ever as she is on TV every week, If people are going to buy it they will do so now

I was shocked to see What Do You Take Me For? omitted. I think this is my 2nd fave Pixie single. Although Mama Do has the feel of an unmatchable single, my fave Pixie song is actually Turn It Up.

I don't know why it was omitted. That and Lay Me Down should have been on it. It really should have been a Singles Collection with all the singles so far and a couple of new songs. Even The Saturdays managed to put all their singles on their GH along with three new songs.

Bit of a desperate decision to cash in on the Strictly popularity, a re-release would have been a better idea. She hasn't enough hits to constitute a greatest hits album so not making it a singles collection instead was another strange decision. I doubt this will even do well sadly.

Her cover of Caravan of Love is nice though.

Exactly. I think re-releasing the album with some new songs and a couple of Christmas songs would have been better or they could have re-released the last album with a bonus Christmas album, like what Girls Aloud did with Chemistry. They released the standard album and then there's a version with a bonus Christmas CD. I'm looking forward to hearing her Christmas song though. BTW I didn't know Caravan of Love was a cover! That seems a bit daft then. Only two new songs and one's a cover

I agree CNBC, a re-release of her third album would of made more sense.
