I really enjoyed Frankie's dancing last night, and thought the theme, costumes and music came together brilliantly.

However... I thought Tango was supposed to be quite aggressive and staccato? Hers looked very smooth and flowing, which didn't quite suit the style of dance for me. I may be wrong - I'm no expert - but it just didn't quite look Tango-ish enough. And then Bruno scored it a 10...?

Eh?

I think it was very difficult to do an authentic tango to that song. The wrong music can make a massive difference to the performance.

Considering that, I thought they did a fine job.

I blamed the music. Terrible choice.

Have to agree, they did very well considering the music choice. But 'good DESPITE the music' doesn't equal a great overall dance if you ask me.

Halloween theme night - they're more lenient with things. You know that it's all about style over substance - back to normal next week hopefully.

It didn't grab me at all. I really couldn't see why the judges thought it deserved such high marks.

Frankie's right arm placement seemed a bit off to me, but what do I know The ending was rather clumsy too, as if Frankie wasn't sure what to do with her broomstick.

Definitely the best dance of the night and maybe the whole show so far.

The music wasn't great at all. It's a great song from a musical but it is not tango music.

The producers are getting it all wrong this year where the music is concerned. They should allow the professionals to choose the music and choreograph the way that they want to without being constantly watched in the training rooms.

It must be annoying for the professionals.

The producers I imagine chose the song .. it wasn't best suited to a tango and to make it more staccato and aggressive would've been wrong .. not to say impossible. They did the best they could with it and it was excellent.

The song choice was terrible, but Kevin made it work with his routine. She was absolutely flawless, there's a few people moaning about her arm / head placing - it was perfectly fine! She looked the part, she danced the part and this joins her very own Paso as the best dance of the series yet.

The music wasn't a tango, and it's flowing and lyrical so it couldn't ever be a really staccato tango.

I have to admit I didn't notice Frankie's right arm so much, I was a bit distracted by the terrible arrangement of the song...

it was the closing number as chosen by the production team on Friday afternoon after the dress rehearsals. the scores are pretty much predetermined as the judges watch and prepare their notes on Friday and then discuss them with the production team in order to place each dance for Saturday night, etc, etc, etc, etc.

I liked the dance, but it was not all that it was made up to be, a lot of production went into it and it is what it is.

I really think that it was a bit overrated ; sorry but not sorry.
Yes she danced it very well and everything fit together : the theme, costumes, music.......I wouldnt complain about her score if Pixie got at least a 35.

Unpopular opinion but I preferred Pixie's Tango; A 4 point difference between the 2 Tangos was a bit too much IMO .....I would have given Pixie's Tango 3 9s and a 8 and Frankie's 4 9s.

Dont get me wrong, I really LIKED it but it was not THAT amazing as the judges and some people make it seem here....

Pixies tango was better.

When I heard they were doing a tango to defying gravity I kept thinking they would do it to the bit which introduces the song in the show ("I hope you're happy, I hope you're happy now...) but I suppose that's not very well known. They fact the whole song was cut and spliced together for scd meant it didn't work!

That's what I thought.

To my eyes,a triumph of production over substance, much like his paso with Susanna last year which was also feted by many .

And yes, like a couple of others here I thought Pixie's more effective.

Exactly.

I preferred Pixie's tango. Trent's choreography is getting more and more impressive as the series progresses.

the vid of them doing the tango was shared on site that is for ex competitors teachers and judges all of them commenting on the great content of thhe tango and how good it was - it had far more substance than many give credit for on here and I know whose opinion I rate on the dance

Aliona also was very complimentary about the content and technique on ITT.

Although I enjoyed the performance, I've refrained from commenting on the technical aspects on here because although I'm a fairly advanced dancer, I wasn't familiar with all the content and didn't feel confident enough to comment. I'm happy to go with the view of those more knowledgeable which generally seems to be very favourable.

Not to mention Frankie's sickle foot, which distracted me throughout.

What, if anything, is the evidence that that actually happens?

Of course, the production team may take rehearsal performances into account when deciding the order, but that's quite different from the judges watching Friday to plan what to say and even their marks.

The idea that the scores are decided in advance, rather than being based on Saturday's dances, seems to be a rather popular one, but it would be outrageous if it were true.

All the judges and Aliona, Tristan, Natalie and Brendan were very impressed so it must of been good.

I didn't get it and really it left me cold.

Maybe it's because I don't buy the Kevin/ Frankie dynamic and the music was just such an odd choice but for me as a Tango it didn;t click at all.

I found Mark and Pixie more enjoyable as a whole.
