That is what you call a superstar's performance.

As Bruce may say ' So much better than last week'

Have to agree, Annie has lost none of her power and I could listen to her music for hours on end

I like Annie Lennox, but I've heard much much better versions of that song.

Gawd, bless her! A class act.

She gave it some. Started brilliantly. Had the hairs on the back of my neck rising...

Personally I think she didn't leave herself anywhere to build it -- needed something different, darker, quieter or more veiled in the middle to give power to the end. But she's the real deal. Proper performance

interesting that there were no dancers... i wonder if annie went full diva and just said no....

Loved her. Simply a classy lady. My only disappointment is I would have liked Natalie to have danced the fabulous VW she did with Scott to the song.

Not a patch on Nina Simone, utterly soulless and she insisted on having the floor to herself. I was disappointed not to have a pro routine. That is why we watch the show after all. It was very egotistical and starry to refuse a pro dance.

I think she's good normally but it was quite a shouty performance imo

Also disappointed there was no dance.

I doubt very much that she refused to have a "pro dance", I got the impression that with her band and the props there wasn't a lot of floor left.

What dance would you suggest?

Ok, you are saying more assertively exactly what I wanted to say. .

I love the Nina Simone version and also really look forward to seeing the pros dance to the guest act.

Was she singing live or miming?

Would not be surprised if she threw a diva hissyfit. She's not exactly the nicest of people in her private life.

Is there any actual proof that she demanded the floor to herself or are those accusing her of this simply taking a throwaway comment and expanding on it as if it's true?

Honestly, sometimes it's like ruddy Chinese Whispers on here.

And I thought she was amazing.

I thought she was great. Can't imagine she refused dancers, probably no room when you consider all the musicians.

She wore a poppy this time. Remember all the controvsy because she wore an AIDS campaign ribbon instead last time she appeared on Strictly.

She looked good because Boy George was on last week. She looked like a frenetic old woman without control, I guess she began OK and then turned into a Lunatic.

It's not really diva-ish though is it? I always think the audience are so disrespectful to be more enthusiastic about the dancers .. also the singer becomes background when really the dancers should be background at that point. They're there to enhance not dominate.

If they could ever persuade Kate Bush to do it (please, please God) .. then I would be annoyed as hell if the audience cheered more loudly for the dancers.

Annie showed Boy George how it's done though .. powerful singing and really into the performance.

Really......what makes you say she's not a nice person? She does a lot of campaigning and charity work on behalf of aids suffered and poverty stricken people in South Africa. I'd say that makes her a lot nicer than most.

As I said elsewhere,'nice guitar solo'.

Didn't do it for me. I never did get the Lennox love - technically good singer, but rather cold, somehow. The emperor is still not wearing any clothes as far as I can see.
