Go for it! 59 years old and an utter wonder.

I wished she had done Thorn in My Side-a brilliant uptempo pop song.

Tremendous.

And I really do prefer having just the guest singer or just the professional dancers.

Very pleased.

Literally when I heard she was performing I wondered if she'd try something so we wouldn't have dancers and yep she did it again.

I mean much bigger stars have performed with pro dancers, just there Gaga and Tony Bennett for example.

Lennox needs to check her ego at the door cause she ain't a superstar.

The SCD band is great. And they can replace guest artists.

You did actually hear the Bennett/Gaga fiasco.
The one who knew how to swing no longer had the voice, and the one with some of the voice was clueless about the style. It was bad on an intergalactic level.
I was glad the hoofers were there to provide the required distraction from the aural GBH.

I enjoyed Annie Lennox's performance well enough. I agree she is a class act and can really sing. I am always happy to hear her sing but I don't think she added anything to this particular show. We can see music all day long on a number of channels but not dance.

We already know she can sing, so her singing a cover version for no apparent reason - i.e. not accompanying a dance performance seemed a bit pointless, I couldn't help wondering if Flavia and Vincent were over on ITV doing a random dance performance in the X factor results show. Alas they weren't!"

I fast-forwarded as soon as I realised there were no pro dancers involved.

I misread the BiB.

Agree, she's got so intense and wouldn't surprise me if she was a dive these days. She gives off that vibe.

Time to retire Annie.”

Totally this, just to add it was also quite shouty in places.

She became horribly po-faced somewhere around the turn of the Millennium and tonight was just ghastly. I'm never a fan of when singers reach an age where they think they can just Johnny Cash it and pump out banal cover albums of incredibly overdone songs because they themselves are so iconic that they can't help but make every single song they cover worth listening to just because it's them. In actuality she added nothing whatsoever to the material and jigged about like an utter goon.

Ah, Annie Lennox. The lady who took to the stage in the early 80s in Dublin, and called the audience IRA bastards.

Real classy lady.

I think she's getting more and more pretentious. She sang a good song very badly, very shouty.

Annie L moved like the late, great George Melly tonight

At least it was better than her atrocious performance at the Olympic ceremony, or was it the Diamond Jubilee? I can't remember but it was awful.

The last time Annie did the show there weren't any dancers either. Perhaps it just puts her off having dancers on the floor, the audience will obviously be more noisy with dancers performing in front of a singer. Obviously have no idea if this is the reason but Annie does have previous here.

Yes. Dreadful in my view and we in our house find her pompous and arrogant demand to appear without dancers completely against the whole spirit of Strictly ! Awful !

Agree with several of the above. Yes, she can still sing a bit but the performance lacked any soul at all. Personally, I would rather have someone not hitting all the right notes but conveying a little bit of emotion. The song was beyond her and I doubt there have been too many worse versions.

Hadn't heard of that before, always took her for a bit of a 'Leftie' but that makes me like her more.

I like AL, but that was bad on two fronts, she didn't really do the song justice, and the dancing was embarrassing. Jay Hawkins does my favourite version of this song.

She was on Breakfast this A.M.,came across as arrogant, and was rude to Bill Turnbull when he asked herabout her recording Georgia on my mind, she said "we in the business just call it Georgia" no need for that sort of behavior, definately a DIVA.
