There is no doubt that Dave Arch, the band and the singers are superb; as was his predecessor on Strictly, Laurie Holloway, and Harold Wheeler on DWTS.

I saw Dave Arch and some of his musicians provide the music for Sir Bruce's one man show at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton in May of this year. They were great that night, not surprisingly. The "man in the hat" bass player briefly put down his basses and performed some vocals. He was not at all bad!

Having had to edit music myself for timed dance routines for dance festivals, I would love to know at which point the couples get the exact piece of music they dance to. Because although it's comparatively easy (although still fiddly) these days to edit music at home to exactly what you want, the pros would then need to give that to the band for them to arrange and rehearse. So on the day of the band run the couples might then discover the the band have inadvertently or necessarily made tiny changes to the piece which would alter the timing in places which they had practised to. Easy enough for the pro to accommodate but a lot harder for a novice. The devil is always in the detail and I'm sure it must be a high-pressure nightmare for everyone concerned.
