Missy and Drums

Do you reckon that Missy can hear the constant drumming just like her previous 2 incarnations did since the design was sent through the untempted schism to go through all of the Master's Regenerations. :P Just a thought!

It depends on how she has came back - if she went to Gallifrey they maybe got rid of that as it turned out to be useless.

Its a shame that once the drums malarkey was explained that actually the Master didn't end up "good". The drumming and seeing the untempered schism sent him nuts, there was an opportunity for the writers to say that since the drumming was actually planted by the timelords and finally he found out what they had did, he had a chance for redemption ....

just my opinion ...

Until the next episode shows we don't know where Missy fits in to the Master's timeline.

The Master had heard the drumming since his childhood look into the hole in time. But I thought the persistent, insistent quality of the drumming that we saw the Master enduring first as Professor Yana, & later when played by John Simm was not part of the original symptoms. Instead, I took it that the signal became amplified by the Time Lords attempt to contact him from the time lock by tuning into his unique brain waves & reflecting them back at him. This would explain why we never saw the Master seemingly troubled by it in the Pertwee to McCoy eras. It was much less of a chronic, acute symptom, then, & only became so from the time the Time Lords attempted to contact the Master, which, in the latter's time line, was from his days as Professor Yana, though to the last time we saw him.

Agreed. Sometimes it's best to leave old plot points as old plot points and just focus on the current story.

From an out-of-story perspective, Murray Gold still included the drumming in parts of the incidental music surrounding Missy, in particular the kiss and the reveal

The 'drums' story was concluded, he/ she wont hear them anymore.
