I think like Paul she needed some time to really blossom. Amazing Voice, she might pull an Ella Henderson in the future

Paul was very strong last year though.

Lola, I thought was good but overrated right from the beginning.

She didn't have the x-factor and her weaknesses were shown in the lives.

Why? She doesnt have star quality

You think he was a bit lacking in confidence??? IMO,The difference between 2013 Paul and 2014 Paul is signficant.

She was never anything to write home about.

Her sing-off was good though - was that one of her audition songs?

If so, then she was a bit of a one trick pony. If you can't better an audition song then you should really be found out as early as possible.

I think the public would have benefitted from not having to listen to her scream songs for weeks on end badly.

I don't think a year would have been enough time for her to improve enough.

Yes...she has a great voice but she doesn't know how to perform and her styling was also poor...she needs to learn how to present her talent......she was poor at times in the sing off when she tried to improvise and sling in the kitchen sink to try and survive....... showed a lack of discipline.

You articulated better than i could. I think choosing Lola as a wildcard was actually doing her a disservice.

I think whenever Kerrianne comes back to the Xfactor she would have had sufficient time to improve and refine her voice as well as her image and will probably conquer the competition.

I doubt it would have made a difference unless she had a sex change or something to appeal to X Factor voters and producers.

She would have benefitted from the press NOT suggesting she was getting it on with Ben Haenow.

Lola is a grown woman so no, she just wasn't good enough.

If you change the the thread title to Lauren you are spot on

What?? I would say Go Lola, if they weren't both in committed relationships. Is there any truth to it?

No offence to Lauren fans but Lauren needs more than a one year, way more.

Lauren looks like a little girl who has run amok with mums make up.

It's not her fault she is so little but it doesn't help give her a stage presence

I just don't think this is the thing for her. If you are apparently in love with performing but every time you get on stage you become an emotional mess who can't hold their vocals together, I suspect you're just in the wrong line of work at the very least.

She wasn't popstar or X Factor material.

Respectfully i don't see the hype with Lauren. Her voice or stage presence doesn't do anything for me.

At the end of the day, it boils down to one thing. Who could fill a stadium or arena? I don't think Lola or most of the other to be fair could fill an old fashioned dance hall. I honestly don't see either of the bands doing it neither. But then, 1D didn't come across as being stadium fillers neither...

Yeah she sung (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman at her Arena Audition.

I agree.........I liked Kerrianne's voice very much but she would also have had issues similar to Lola that will be ironed out by at least a year's more 'maturing'.

Honestly, I don't think it would've helped much. Her problem wasn't that she was inexperienced and needed polishing, it was that her voice strained and went way off whenever she had to sing something challenging. A year could've improved her technique, but her voice itself wasn't going to get drastically better.

I think the thing with Lola is that she doesn't have star quality. I'm sure she could make a living through singing but number one singles and arena tours are not her destiny. She needs to get herself out to pubs and clubs and events and build her confidence in front of a smaller crowd.

Her voice is nothing all that special - Kerrianne and Emily, who Cheryl didn't put through, both had so much more to offer.

Completely agree with this post. She can make a living out of singing but she isn't a star

Can't agree. Lola did have something. She cannot do vocal gymnastics like Leona, Alexandra or Sam Bailey, but if she can be a singer songwriter with songs that suit her then why not?

She is more substance than show.

Most people who fill arenas have no substance and are all show with a huge amount of promotion and aimed at audiences that fill arenas. You don't have to fill an arena to be a star.

XF has got some promotion for Lola and I hope she gets the opportunity of performing in order to get more confidence.
