Missy (again...)

What confused me about missy was when she described herself as an android. Was this a trick, &/or is the master hiding in missy. Is missy the masters tardis (which i know has been discussed elsewhere). I know (or hope) the answers will be explained next week.

The masters TARDIS? Is that a theory?

Yeah she just lied.

I took it as that was meant to be a little tease to the fans i.e Moffat knew we'd been waiting all series to find out who missy was so he thought it would be funny to have missy declare she was just an unimportant service droid all along, imagining some of us may curse at our tv screens, only to later find out that wasn't the case at all.

of course in terms of the episode, she just wanted to have a little fun with the doctor, as the character often does, before revealing her true identity

The Masters TARDIS has been a moving statue before and in the books I believe they had TARDIS' that took on Humanoid forms.

Missy is also waiting for the Doctor after he runs down from St Paul's (when she was standing with him on the steps) so it's possible she just materialized there.

The Red Phone Box next to her is probably a more likely candidate for a TARDIS than she herself is though.

Of course even if the Phone Box is a TARDIS it doesn't rule out Missy being one as the Master has used the old "keep a spare TARDIS inside your TARDIS just in case" trick before

In her own words, she told a little "fib-ette"

I agree, Moffat thought it would be funny to tease fans by saying she was just a droid.

Oh right - I'm absolutely useless at Classic Who. Really not seen much at all so didn't know this.

I really should make a point of watching more classic episodes. Feel like such a traitor!

Yes indeed. The masters tardis has taken on many different guises over the years. I can remember it being a roman or greek type of pillar & i may be wrong, but hasn't it also been disguised as an ice cream van or something - im thinking one of the auton stories. Like i say, i might be wrong on that one. & thats why i was thinking if missy was disguised as a tardis.

No! I've just remembered. Wasn't it disguised as a circus trailer (in one of the auton stories)

His TARDIS was also a massive space rocket in one story. (The Mutants)
