Even if he wasn't going to be a worldwide superstar, it would have been better for him to show what kind of artist he was on the show. It would give the public and maybe even labels an idea of what he was capable of, which could help in the future.

Wow I thought he seemed like a nice boy but that has put me right off him.

I'm surprised people are saying their opinion of Jack has changed when websites like these are supposed to be controversial and they've most likely taken a portion of what Jack has said and exaggerated it. Although, if he did say this, he's got a point!

Hear, hear! My thoughts exactly. I was rooting for him since his audition but gone right off him after those comments about Mel B. If it wasn't for her he wouldn't even have been on the show. I've got friends that live in and around Leeds and had never heard of him before the X Factor. The X Factor and Mel B have a given him a platform to be a successful artist now. He should learn to show some respect and be grateful.

Of course it wasn't Mel B who put him through ...

It was Mel B who took him to judges houses. If he didn't go to judges houses, it's highly unlikely he would have been one of the wildcards.

You honestly think Mel B made the choices at any stage?

The producers decide who goes through the judges are there because a bunch of people nobody knows putting through another bunch of people nobody knows wouldn't work. There needs to be 'judges' to be the face of the show. So they producers simply tell them who is to go through.

The only judge with any say whatsoever at all would be Simon.

I can see why Mel didn't put him through initially, she must have thought that she wouldn't know what to do with him, but he was thrusted on her as the wild card. He was out of his depth on the show singing in front of a large audience. Nevertheless, he should be thankful for the opportunity as it may benefit him if he were to record any future music.

I see no lies, Jack was totally spot on, he wasn't given the best songs. Mel did a poor job with him, he has the most potential on the show imo.

People shouldn't really slate him for being bitter, he clearly wasn't imo, he was just being completely truthful!

I still find it amusing that people think the judges choose their own acts. Sharon Osborne and even Cheryl Cole have more or less admitted this is not the case. And I'm sure Charlotte Church said it much more directly in another interview.

Whoever has input into song choice etc, producers probably, they fairly mess it up a lot of the time. Do you think its deliberate?

I don't think he's being bitter at all, he has every right to be annoyed tbh, she didn't even take him through to the live shows and when he did get brought back by Simon she then gives him awful song choices and just treats him badly in general. Throughout the whole show he said how he said how greatful he was for the opportunity, and I don't think he thought he was better than the show but he was just saying he wasn't that type of artist! I just hope that he does well because he is actually very talented!

Whilst I agree he was not looked after properly or given the best song choices that suited him etc, I don't want to diss any of the judges except Cowell as this is his show and what he says goes. Mel, Cheryl and Louis are just puppets so the ander needs to be directed at them. Oh for a show that you could judge the mentors on truly? Wouldn't that be nice as they would have a vested interest in the artist, and would give them song choices and performances that suited them and did not turn them into performing monkeys!

They say it is 'taking them out of their comfort zone etc, but all of Mel's boys got a raw deal last Saturday. I don't blame her - I blame the producers and Simon. Gold paint and horns for Andrea - really? Red contact lenses and bt out of hell for Paul? Dressed as cross between Adam Ant, Spandau Ballet and Boy George for Jack - really? And singing Bleeding love? Give me a break!

He seemed to me the typical "indie" performer with a voice suited to storyteller style songs.Nothing wrong with that, but he was never going to win with the likes of Andrea/Paul/Fleur and ...well, pretty much all of the remaining acts bound to get more votes. To be fair, though, Bleeding Love would be a tough song for any singer with less than outstanding ability and a tone suited to pop/r&b to do better than a karaoke rendition of, and all but cruel to throw at him.
