Deluded Dancers?
Do you remember that chef guy who thought he was great and the one that kept bleating on about Blackpool? They do make me laugh

Nothing will ever be more delusional on this show than Ricky Whittle demanding that the voting figures for his series be released because he refused to believe that he'd lost. I've never seen anyone tumble harder for the "they just thought I was safe" lie.
Dominic Littlewood's bizarre fixation that he was undeniably a better dancer than Matt DiAngelo was another good'un as was Jan Ravens' infamous parting shot. (ETA : Oh God and Pamela writing newspaper columns about how her partnership with James was a steamy cauldron of barely repressed sexual tension on both sides) |

I bet that column freaked Jimmy and Ola out though.Did Dominic really say he was better than Matt?

The guy from Coronation Street (the one who kept going on about Blackpool, got there, then got kicked out) was the most delusional I've seen on the show. His face when he went in front of the judges each week - he just couldn't understand why the judges didn't see Fred Astaire whenever he was on the dance floor. Can't remember his name now. It was kind of endearing though...

He had a real bit between his teeth about how Matt (whose dancing was always pretty on-the-edge and a bit sloppy and overambitious, which is probably why I liked him so much!) kept on making mistakes and he didn't, therefore he was better than him and the judges weren't scoring properly. I know people fundementally remember Dom for the groping but he really was such a douchebag on so many fundemental levels. He was incredibly bitchy about Penny to the press as well.

I did feel a bit sorry for Craig, because the judges did save him twice in the dance-off and built him up a little like they thought he had potential, then dropped him like a wet sack o' spuds the second the real no-hopers (Joe/Jo) left and the golden girls started dropping into the bottom 2 and it all became his fault somehow. At the start he and Phil were being scored about the same - it's just that Phil really took off and Craig stayed stalled and I don't think Craig ever noticed. Blackpool was hilarious though. I've never seen the judges come closer to just yelling "OH JUST P*** OFF!" at a contestant. Alesha probably would have if she'd had a couple of bottles down her.

Perhaps delusional that he was the most popular personality; but few can reasonably disagree that he was the best dancer on the show. Chris Hollins was relatively mediocre though evidently more popular having played the sweet potential son-in-law to the mums watching and voting; Whittle looked like some bad ass who would make your daughter pregnant and dash off to LA. Heck even I might have been inclined to ask for a recount.
Big difference between being delusional about popularity and delusional about relative dance-ability. |

Also, there's a difference between being wrong about popularity and being delusional.
Thinking you're going to win, not winning and being so convinced that this cannot be so that you demand the voting figures are released because you don't believe the result hints at delusion. Well it does to me at any rate. |
