Still no update on my Nexus 7, I wonder if they've halted it because of the issues as they said it would take about a week to go out to all devices in the articles and it has been a week.

That's what I meant - an app, running in the background, that was fine with 4.4 but needs amending for 5.0
Cant see anything running in the background, I'm going to try to uninstall the update later today (if I can workout how to do it) |

When I went into "about" on my nexus 7 2012 last night it said that 5.0 was available, but a couple of seconds later (without me doing anything) the screen changed to "up to date". Now when I check its not showing the update available any more. So I'm thinking they may have pulled the update on that device for now.
i think Google may have pulled it. |

I saw a thread over on xda that google had pulled it.
Something to do with breaking the SMS app. |

Interesting, I haven't found it that big a change yet. Main points of note for me are:
- The handling of notifcations seems an improvement, although I haven't road tested them that much yet. - The interuption settings which were switched on by default are of no use to me, but easily switched off. - Battery saver option may be useful - time will tell. - Could have done without the extra swipe now needed before I get to the unlock screen, but not a big deal. - Not a huge fan of the white in the app screen, but again not a big deal. - I like the notification handling - appearing on the lock screen is handy. - The interuption settings have made my usual silent mode widget useless (as well as any others I have tried). Bit of a pain having to press the volume button and then fiddle about depending on whether I want silent or vibrate only. Hopefully the 3rd party widgets will get updated. - Battery life seems slightly improved - certainly no worse. - The Google Now launcher isn't totally stable. I had the screen tearing/freezing issue mentioned earlier in this thread without trying to make it happen (was messing with the silent mode widgets re the above issue). Have also had a few other random freezes. There is the option to switch to the default launcher I had before Google Now, but that would mean rearranging my shortcuts etc and I can't be bothered. |

I am not sure if i have any battery improvement yet. Before, i could easily achieve 16 hrs with medium use, now its lucky to be 12, on my Nexus 5.
I was keen to get this update but I am not totally sold on it, its certainly made me question whether i want to stay with stock android for my upgrade. May well consider going back to Samsung. |

Still no update on the Nexus 7 OTA! I think they pulled the update on Friday and will start pushing it out again some time when they've fixed the issues people were reporting.

if they had pulled the update it would have been all over the various android website i frequent - i've seen nothing suggesting it.
It was reported on the BBC and elsewhere that a lot of Nexus 7 users were experiencing issues, some claiming it made the device unusable, and I have checked every day all last week for the update and then again over the weekend and today but nothing. They did say it would roll out over a week. |

I suspect they have pulled it for the Nexus 7 as we had users on this very forum telling us that the update available was showing but when they pushed check it shows no updates.

you checking every day if a fruitless exercise. it won't show up until your device is added to the distribution list. who said it would roll out over a week? was that google? |

Just popped up OTA on my Nexus 4. Checked at 7pm manually and it wasn't available.
I'm updating now, I reserve the right to moan later

My N7 is unusable. To give you an idea of how bad it is, in the last 45 minutes Ive been unable to complete a google search (as it takes 5 minutes for the keyboard to appear and when it does its unresponsive), crashed 3 times and every ap brings up the '...is not responding' message. The silence from Android is as frustrating as its deafening. |

how many is "a lot"? you checking every day if a fruitless exercise. it won't show up until your device is added to the distribution list. who said it would roll out over a week? was that google? http://www.zdnet.com/android-lollipo...ng-7000035977/ "Android Lollipop users warn of 'unusable' devices after upgrading" http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-30116319 "Android Lollipop update causes problems" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...-software.html "Android Lollipop makes devices ‘unusable’: Users are reporting serious faults when upgrading to the latest software" It's not 'fruitless' (well it's not Apple) but checking each day means that when the update is available I'll be able to see it. Asus announced on the 17th November that it was going out. Users reported seeing a notification of the update and then it being pulled and no updates available when they actually attempted to proceed. http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile...exus-7-1273261 |

as said, i visit 3 major android websites every day (android central, android police and droid life) and none have reported about any update being pulled - android police are always on the ball with any release of anything. if it had been pulled then i would expect at least one of those sites to have reported on it. the OTA and factory images are still available direct from google. the only Nexus 7 update that hasn't been released is the 3G/LTE versions. |

i would suggest you do a system wipe, and don't restore from a backup when prompted.
If not, how do I do it? I feel like the next step is throwing the bloody thing out if the window! |

Why else would it show and update available and then when people go to download / proceed and it says no updates are available. People on this forum have reported that.

the images are available from google and should take around 5 minutes to flash your device back to 4.4.4 |

The Nottingham Post website is completely unusable as it tries to play a video which promptly causes Chrome to crash At least I've got my Xperia to fire vids to the Chromecast.

Looks like the OTA has resumed today on some Nexus platforms, eg the Nexus 4. I am still waiting for mine. If Google had any sense they should not be pushing anything out to Nexus 7 until they have completely sorted the causes of the problems.
