Yet we had a dismissed update not coming back immediately before, so has it changed ?

Because some people wanted to think that, and maybe a few did.
It is/was a staged update, so dismiss it and maybe even you jumped back in the queue.

I've stopped using my 2012 N7 as it is pretty much unusable. It's fine on my G3 and N5, so it's just a cock up on the part of Google for the N7, but not surprising given how many problems it has had since launch.

I did a clean install via the SDK so it wasn't even anything to do with the upgrade process that most people will have done.

Don't ask me why it isn't being reported more, but possibly it's because it's now a pretty old tablet.

as you know how to do a clean install using the SDK then you can easily put it back to 4.4.4.

That have proved that it is still being pushed to the N4 then.

Still nothing here on N4 or N7, I hope it stays that way.

Same here i wont even use my N7 now total cockup, it rebooted itself 2 days ago after freezing for what appeared to be like 10 mins. So slow its beyond belief did they not test this damm software for older devices or just for the latest N6 and N9.

Well, just put JB back on it, or if it because the new encryption is on, turn that off.

you mean KitKat surely. not jellybean.
and encryption is only on by default on the Nexus 6 (and possible Nexus 9).

If the update is having problems on the Nexus 7 then I can wait for the update for that.
Don't want same thing happening when Goggle sent out the last major update. Worked fine on my Nexus 4 but I ended up having to do a factory reset on my Nexus 7(2012).

Like everyone else my family are having problems with the latest upgrade. My Nexus 5 upgraded without any problem and works very well. Android 5 Lollipop is worth the wait. However we have two older Nexus 7's and they both updated and are now effectively unusable. I also have a Nexus 7 (2013) and no update has been offered for this, even manual checking shows 4.4.4 to be up to date. I guess it's a matter of waiting. I suppose I could reinstall 4.4.4 on the older Nexus 7's - anyone have a link to the method? I have done this sort of thing on android phones and tablets in the past but not on a Nexus.

as has been previously said numerous times, checking manual update all the time is a pointless exercise.

a link on how to do a factory image install has been posted earlier in this thread.

Yeah, but I don't really use the tablet much anyway now (more for my son to watch videos). It would be a lot more of a problem for someone who used it daily.

It's ridiculously slow and buggy. Almost laughably so. How it was ever released (for this specific device) I do not know.

OK so only 1/2 day on my Nexus 4 and the two gripes I've got are:
1. There is no obvious way to turn off the vibrate and sound quickly. Only toggle sound<->vibrate
2. The hidden lolipop game is too hard!

There are bound to be other more fundamental issues that I've not found, though I'm a fairly basic user. But so far so good, doesn't seem laggy on my N4 yet, other than initial switchon, but I've seen a few other posts elsewhere regarding the N7 becoming unstable/unusable

I think its infeasable that it didn't go through some kind of acceptance testing.

I don't think all N7 users are seeing it So that kind of leaves an untested or unusual configuration, or an untested or unusual interaction with an application, or a specific hardware revision issue.

It shouldn't have happened, it must be more than frustrating, and its not just you. So hoepfully the Android devs are aware of the issue, replicated it and have put it top of their critical bug fix list.

Not much you can do other than downgrade or wait it out.

It would be nice to know they have acknowledged the issue though.

I'm sure the problems will have been logged on the developers site. If I get a chance I'll have a look.

I expect an OTA update to fix things will come, and when Google puts it on their blog you'll see all the sites reporting it. I expect they're too lazy to bother investigating the problem until it's detailed in a nice blog post or press release!

Bug #1 - wifi toggle either doesn't work, or is slow to react. I am not using chan 12/13

Bug #2 - In frustration to bug #1, and in battery saving mode, I powered off/on. The phone said "shutting down" as soon as it powered up. Then shut down. So I started it again, it said "shutting down",... You get the idea. It was ok after 4th or 5th restart (plugged back into mains in case it was a battery saver bug).

Nexus 4. Not sure if its just me.

I toggle wifi using the quick toggle widget (the one with synch, location, auto brightness on it). The wifi does not connect to the router - edit: at least not quickly, it does connect (> 1 minute) - not sure if it connects every time. Tried 3 times and its coming up ~ 1min:30secs from toggle.

Next I go to settings, and select wifi to see the available wifi networks. Sometimes this crashes ("...not responding), sometimes it opens after a fair old wait.

Turning off wifi is instant!

Turning on wifi was fairly instant with kitkat!

Erm, no. I'm a bit reluctant to try.

All I can tell you is:
- Battery saving was on
- I had toggled wifi on with the widget but it hadn't come up.
- I powered off and back on to try and force wifi on. The issue happened on restart. All of the above may be coincidental

edit: tried this again, as above, and...phone started absolutely fine. So???!

Just looked on my Nexus 4 and it told me that I had a system update. I clicked on later, but I expect tomorrow it will come back.
So how do i get rid of that notification permanently without updating?

Still nothing on the N7

I got the notification yesterday, it seems to come back every few hours.

Has anyone an idea of how much free space i need to download/install it?

It states at the start that you need 500meg free space.

My N4 updated last night, as did my wife's. No issues at all, one app is broken (Call Confirm from Vlad Lee, and there is a minor issue with the BBC Weather app cutting off the top of the max temp digit on the Today page.

i have two of them, one that say6s system update available, if that is clicked on it have a load of text saying how great this update is and that it needs 500Mb of space. No matter how I try I can not get rid of it.

The other one is the one I noticed first of all, you can get rid of it and then it comes back.

surly I should be able to get rid of the notifications and that is the end of it, but oh no, they keep nagging you to update.

This is what I have been on about and people saying that I do nto have to install it, maybe not, but I will carry on getting these notifications

Got the notice for the update when I got up 15 or 20 mins ago and its now installing on my Nexus 4 . I will be in no hurry to put it on my Nexus 7(2012) whenever the update arrives due to the posts on here about the update on the Nexus 7.

so you're using a third party widget?
i would say that it's that widget that is the cause of the problems, not lollipop.

i used the built-in wifi toggle (via swipe down).
