The other one is the one I noticed first of all, you can get rid of it and then it comes back.

surly I should be able to get rid of the notifications and that is the end of it, but oh no, they keep nagging you to update.

This is what I have been on about and people saying that I do nto have to install it, maybe not, but I will carry on getting these notifications”

i think you should sell all your android devices. all they seem to do is annoy you.
sell them and get a non-smartphone device.

I have very little problem with my Android devices, all two of them. They do what I want to do.

You and people like you annoy me as you seem to think we should all be the same and follow the crowd, once again like seep, because we are told to do so. About time people grew a pair and did what they want and not what they are told to do.

it's your constant moaning that i'm talking about.
you can do what you want with your devices, but please stop the constant moaning, but if you must moan do it somewhere else.

we get it, you don't like lollipop, even though you have never used it.

At this time I think the Lollipop upgrade has been a bit of a mess.

If you can't handle criticism of Android or for some reason take it personally then you shouldn't really be reading a public opinion forum.

Perhaps you could create a Lollipop appreciation thread !

it's nothing about lollipop or even android. it's about this one particular person constantly moaning about something they don't even have.

I have also just noticed that there is no longer an email folder just a Gmail folder and all my Hotmail emails are going in there and its letting me pick between my mail Hotmail account and my Google email that I only use now and again.
have also notice now and again that the Google play store is slow to open.

folder? do you mean app?
yes there is no longer a separate email app, gmail app now handles all email account.

calling the gmail app gmail kinda doesn't make sense any more, but i see the rationale for not wanting to maintain/develop two separate apps. the gmail app should probably be renamed (and probably will at some point).

can't say i've noticed play store issues, but speed at the moment could be related the google services outage that happened last night.

Yes, because Google want to move you to the latest supported (and more secure) version of Android.

I noticed when the Gmail app was updated on my phone and on my tablet that all my email was pushed onto it, which is what have happened to you. But the old email app was still there.

i presume the old email app is also in your all apps somewhere you just have to put it back on your home screen. i presume you mean App and not folder.

This is what I mean about google wanting us to combine things, sorry Google, but I do not want to use your Gmail app for my other email accounts, I prefer them separate and I should not have to spend time undoing what you have done.

then don't update it then.
are you don't have lollipop and apparently have no intention of installing it then i really don't see why you need to keep contributing to a thread about lollipop.

with a nexus device you can easily revert back to any previous android build.

there are plenty third party email apps you can use.

A simple solution - use one of the many email apps that are out there. You can then disable syncing on the accounts in Gmail, and simply use that third-party app instead!

more evidence that you appear to actually dis-like google and their approach to mobile OS.

as per my previous post, i suggest you get rid of your android devices and get something with an OS that meets your requirements - android does not appear to meet your requirements.

Still seem to be having a minor problem with the Google play store being a little slow in loading at times on the Nexus 4 since the update this morning.

Google play store seems to be loading a little better on my Nexus 4 than it was this morning. Don't know what was up with it earlier.

i would say that it's that widget that is the cause of the problems, not lollipop.

i used the built-in wifi toggle (via swipe down).”

I honestly thought power control widget was part of Google's standard widgets.

In any case it doesn't matter how the wifi is turned on, toggle from swipe down, settings or widget, the result is the same.

I guess there could be an unwanted interaction, but it even seems to be the same when running in safe mode.
