as has been said already in this thread, the keyboard colour can be changed in the keyboard settings.

I know you can, I told my mate you can as he did not like the white, as I said in my post, I prefer it to the old colour. I think you just looked at my post and just picked.

Something I said I did not like which was the notification bar and lock screen you left alone.

It will be released this month apparently, but as always with network locked devices, it may take a few months after they test it and bloat it up.”

I thought he was because I couldn't find anything about it anywhere.

I have had the update on my N4 a week tomorrow and when I first got the update I seemed to have a minor problem with getting the Google play store to fully load up but they problem seems to have fixed its self.

that goes against what you said in the sky forum, where you said you had NO "live" TV at all. your profile also confirms that you have no live TV service.

i have said I got now Tv, but I do not use the live TV part, I only got it for the films, but as of yet had not activated that, just got entertainment.

I have not even been tempted by live TV, I think there should be a way to disable that part to be honest. Anyway, come the end of next month and my pre-payment will end and I do not think I am going to renew.

My profile was done before i had Sky now, I am not going to put in that I have sky now, but i do nto use live Tv am I.

They always do this, MS is the same, they rush things out, see what mucks up and then fix it after. why not wait for a while longer, fix the faults and then send it out?

because faults (well some of them) don't come to light until the public has it.
only so much can be beta tested.

You can get the Lollipop 5.0.1 factory images for some of the Nexus devices direct from google.

https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Just make sure you get the right one for your hardware, there is even a guide at the same link for the more technical to flash it themselves.

I'm getting the 2013 Nexus 7 as a christmas pressie & will be flashing the latest factory image when I get back home

Nothing was rushed out, a couple of minor fixes so its a x.x.1 release. The biggest fixes seems to be related to a factory reset situation where enough incorrect attempts at lock screen trigger a factory reset. The fix deals with a rare condition that this could happen if the device was in your pocket or something.

i would think it fixes the memory leak that some devices have, where some devices get progressively slower unless they are rebooted.

Still no update on my Nexus 7 2013, one of the selling points was meant to be getting updates quickly on a Nexus device!

the OTA file for 5.0.1 is out for the Nexus 7 (2013).
http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/12...s-7-2013-wi-fi

if you wish, can you do the update manually yourself.
first from 4.4.4 to 5.0, then 5.0 to 5.0.1

So why haven't they pushed the OTA to all devices then? it was the 18th of last month when it was released?

I don't really want to update manually, I'd rather get the OTA update. I'm certain they've held back the Nexus 7 OTA update as other devices have had the update.

As I said before there were a lot of people reporting issues with the Nexus 7 and it even made the mainstream press like BBC, you denied that the update had been halted but now there's still no update on the device and a new version is being pushed out before the original has been got to a lot of Nexus 7 owners.

that is the OTA update that i mentioned, it's not a factory restore image.
the 5.0.1 OTA update is out and available, when it hits your device i have no idea.

i said there was no evidence to suggest it had been halted, as of yet i've still not seen any evidence to suggest it.

ps.. i'm assuming you have the WIFI nexus 7 and not the LTE/3G version, as it's only the former that lollipop is available for.

Yes the wifi version, I was aware that the cellular version update wasn't coming out on the 18th November. I'll wait as I like to get the official update via the proper channel, hopefully it won't be too much longer.

The OTA 5.0.1 update on the Nexus 7 (2013) (Sideloading needed the PDA.net driver mind you) has bought my Nexus 7 back to being a useful device - for the first time since I accepted Lollypop it's able to play YouTube videoS and is responsive once again.

Of course it remains to be seen if it stays like this, but so far a good start, even battery life is now better than KitKat levels.

it is the official update via the proper channel, it's just your the one doing the installing rather than waiting for it to be deployed to you.
but if you want to wait then that's cool.
