Question about moving from Apple to Android...

Hi guys

I have an iphone 5 at the minute, and my contract runs out on the 30th Dec.

I'm thinking of getting a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact - but was wondering do you have 'icloud' type functionality on android?

i.e. when I take a photo on my iphone it uploads automatically to the icloud so I can access it on my ipad and it's backed up etc.

Do android do that?

Thanks

Yes!

Flickr offers 1TB of photo storage. You take a photo and you can set it to automatically upload.

For other backup options, there's Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and Sandisk Memory Zone.

And Mega you get 50GB for free.

I have all my pics auto upload to that. There's so many cloud apps now that will back up your pRon...I mean, cat pics

Vanilla Android (nexus) will prompt to configure Google+ uploads when you take a photo (I think! it pretty much just happened on my nexus)

The modified Androids like Sense (HTC), Touchwiz (Samsung) often replace this functionality with their own brand / affliations

Sony Is pretty close to Vanilla Android I dont know if they mod anything, but ultimately it is configurable to any cloud service you require.

Dropbox will also do this automatically.

Flickr as mentioned is probably the best for photo uploads, however this also has the caveat of not being in sync with the desktop. At least with the likes of Google/Dropbox/One drive they can sync your photos to your computers. Personally I am more of a One Drive fan as it the only cloud solution I know of thats genuinely cross platform. So far as I know Dropbox doesn't have a native Windows Phone app.
