I'm not "head judge" Len's biggest fan on Strictly, but at least he has a certain expertise on the subject. Now the BBC seem to have decided that Len's a "personality" and he's popping up on my TV when I least expect it.He's currently hosting a daytime show where minor celebs relive UK-based holidays of their youth. Why? Am I somehow missing the cantankerous old so-and-sos charm?

Bad news for you, he'll be in another programme series soon, "The History of Dancing" with Lucy Worsley, poor woman. Mind you, he can probably remember when it all started.

Perhaps he comes cheap?

No...it's the BBC innit?

Isn't he in some BBC promo where he's scoring against Bruno in goal, who's wearing a silver track-suit?

Talk about a geriatric performance.

Oh, hang on!

We get that every week, don't we?

Really? God help us. They'll have Bruno doing Match of the Day next. And Craig replacing Nick Hewer as Alan Sugar's advisor on The Apprentice!

Unfortunately the big bosses of the show will ensure he is head judge for as long as possible.

Thank goodness for the remote control

Maybe setting him up for leaving the show and doing other things.

BBC producers often create a "flavour of the month" irrespective of ability. It means that they don't have to use their creative talent !

That makes absolutely zero sense.

I am really looking forward to the History of Dance series and the Lucy Wordsley/Len Goodman pairing.

I am hoping in the course of this series Len will learn the relative geography of Argentina and discover that the likelihood of a gaucho leaving his herd to their own devices on the pampas to ride miles and miles for an evening of tango in Buenos Aries would have been very remote indeed.

I do agree that the BBC sometimes has "a flavour of the month." They use them in so many things the public get sick of them, then they drop them like a stone.
Len should enjoy the limelight whilst he can as it won't last.
At seventy, he's looking his age and can you imagine a woman of his age being given so many shows?

I still think the Farmfoods adverts are the pinnacle of his career, and can't see that view changing.

I adore Lucy and I think her pairing with Len may turn out to be stroke of genius. Let's wait and see before passing judgement.

Perhaps it's Lucy's way of getting round her prenup agreement with her husband that she would never appear on Strictly.

I'm sure she'll do a lot of dressing up, which I really like because I find visual learning much easier than book learning. Always enjoy her shows, so I hope I'll like this one.

Yes she's dressed up before for one of her programmes.
I can just imagine Len dressed up, but I'm trying not to.

Be thankful that you are not being forced to watch a programme hosted by someone that you clearly don't appreciate.

You're not are you ...... ?

Meanwhile, there will be people who do appreciate Len and some of the programmes that he presents. He has an affable presenting style, and generally either knows what he is talking about or has an interest in the subject matter.

Who said anything about being forced to do anything? I watch Strictly because I enjoy it - despite old bore Len. I notice that the vast majority of posters on this forum enjoy the show yet have certain individuals - be they judges, contestants or pro dancers - they're less keen on. Indeed, judging by some of the comments, I suspect I like more of the participants than most! If you adore absolutely everybody on the show, bully for you! I wish you many happy hours of Len's Holidays Of A Lifetime (though preferably on DVD after the series has been cancelled).

The BBC wants to cross-pollinate its day and evening/weekend output to reach every "demographic", so they put former (and possibly future) SCD contestants into shows with the (now) oldest face on the most watched programme in their repertoire.

(Pity Ms Worsley has apparently been "ordered" by hubby to resist any such offer to "dahnce". )

Whether you like Len or not (and I have to say I veer from one to the other myself) it makes sense.

Very few of her programmes where she has not dressed up at least once. Even shown being dressed in the Royal Boudoir in one (in front of some lucky Australian tourists!).

The problem is that some people on here don't like anyone poking fun at "their favourite,"
They confuse this board with a fan site and sometimes try to play moderator.

There's no obligation for them to read any post they don't like. They should just scroll down. No one on TV needs their "protection."

This board is for entertainment only, what we say about anyone (within the terms and conditions of the board) is our business and no one else's.

Some find that hard to accept.
It's pointless trying to dictate to other posters, as it's totally ineffective.

She has a very good sense of humour (see her Tweet of the sign at Waitrose on Sunday!) so I suspect her comment about the prenup could have been very tongue in cheek.

As on Strictly, so with these other shows. Len might be the link man and have more of a role than on SCD but he is not "the whole show" and the guests and items on them might be quite enjoyable.
