True, though it could also be a good excuse if she's "chicken"!

That is quite true. My original point, though, was that while I personally don't much like Len, I can appreciate that he brings some professional expertise to Strictly. On the holiday show he brings only his "personality", the appeal of which I find more mystifying!

Anyone know when it starts?

Quite. So you are, I gather free to not watch programmes that he presents or appears in. Which was my point.

You were, I believe, talking about the other programmes that he presents or appears in, rather than Strictly itself., hence my post.

“ If you adore absolutely everybody on the show, bully for you! I wish you many happy hours of Len's Holidays Of A Lifetime (though preferably on DVD after the series has been cancelled).”

Oddly enough, I passed no comment regarding whether I adored (or even just liked) absolutely everybody on the show, so I am rather puzzled as to why you posted that. And I'll repeat, my post was in response to your mention of the other (many other?) programmes that Len is now appearing in, rather than Strictly itself.

Oh, and on a general note for the benefit of some here, in no way am I trying to dictate on these "boards", neither am I trying to "play moderator" (that's a rather ironic claim in itself, considering). They are just my opinions - and as someone has helpfully suggested - there's no obligation for anyone here to read any post they don't like. They should just scroll down.

I'm sure than Len is quite capable of defending himself without anyone here needing to rush to defend them. But passing an opinion - that is allowed, it's all part of the discussion if people wish to enter into such a thing. If not ......

Yes, of course his role in these new shows is very different. The idea of expertise coming into presenting sometimes comes up on these boards. I guess in this case they could have used a "specialist" presenter (some of whom might not have much expertise anyway!) but it probably isn't needed, and anyway that wouldn't make those "show-to-show" links I was talking about. I suspect the BBC think his "personality" or at least "recognisability" helps them do that.
