What changes now the Master is a woman?

In my opinion, nothing really, it just depends on how Gomez plays it and how Moffat writes it. What do the rest of you think?

The master is the master, wether they have chesticles or testicles it doesn't really make much difference to me, the master is the doctors ultimate single opponent and so long as its that way and carries on as if nothing really has happened i don't mind but if she suddenly says "sorry i need to visit the ladies its the wrong time of the month" as a plot twister then i'm out

In total agreement with you.

Unless there are poor performances or the writing is a bit all over the place eg the lines aren't joining up with the dots..

Happy to sit back and enjoy.

The only big difference between Missy and her previous incarnations is that they never aggressively snogged their nemesis just to mess with him.

I actually got the feeling from the way Michele Gomez played the scene that she did actually want to kiss him, that it was a symptom of her delight at having her beloved nemesis back. There always was a touch of that with the characters, especially the Delgado / Pertwee versions where you did always get the sense that if the Master wasn't an evil madman trying to destroy the world they could happily have sat down and had a nice affectionate chat about the old days, in a strictly hetero, suave, 1970s way of course :P

In the Sea Devils for example, there was a real sense that although he had his schemes and agendas, of course, the Master really was genuinely happy when the Doctor came to visit him in 'prison'. There was that affection there; it was consciously portrayed I feel.

For me, the kiss was genuine, although the fact that she knew the Doctor would hate it probably added to the frission for her

The Master has had a what is now termed as a bromance with the doctor since the 3rd doctor. There was always a mutual respect, but it was in in jacobi & simms you saw it as something more.
'If the doctor can be young and strong so can I the master reborn!' Jealousy at the doctors appearance and then the final scene of last of the time Lords dying in the doctors arms and choosing to die as he knew it would hurt the doctor shows that he is using the doctors feelings against him to quote the 3rd doctor 'he is my best enemy' and in the end of time part 2 the master seemingly sacrifices himself to save the doctor, a out of character moment of redemption and showing he cared for the doctor (yes ok he wanted to blast the crap out of 00rassilon in revenge for the drums) so now he is female and his/her admiration (and possibly relief!?) At finally seeing the doctor again came out in form of a kiss, so there should be nothing different about the mistress compared to her previous incarnations of the master

I never got a Women in Love impression from Master and Doctor. They lied when they said there'd be no flirting!

There was none from the Doctor's side that's for sure, and i think that's the distinction.

PMS is gonna make him way crazier.

Maybe we'll get a whole story that culminates in calming The Master with a bar of galaxy and a copy of Inside Soap.
