This is my latest favourite!!

Mixed frozen berries (strawberries, rasberries, cherries etc)
large handful of oats
large tablespoon of organic peanut butter
large tablespoon of 0% fat greek yoghurt
1 banana
Ginger (I put in quite a lot as I'm obsessed with ginger)
Fill up the to the max line with half milk and half water

Blast it for about 35 seconds. I sometimes have one after the gym and replace the oats with a spoonful of protein powder.

^^^^ That sounds delicious ^^^^
I love all those ingredients and of course ginger too
I Had not even thought of adding oats to my Nutribullet drinks

I've just started making the most lovely icecream using the Nutribullet.

I use the small cups and put half an avocado in first. Then I use frozen fruit chunks from Sainsburys. Mango, Black Cherry, and Raspberry. And then I use soya milk to bind it all together.

Because the fruit is frozen it makes the soya milk go like ice cream almost instantly, but I am also trying to see what happens if I freeze it for 15mins to see if it is even better.

Let us know how it goes.

Freezing didn't work too well, it went very hard. Depending on how it comes out after using the nutribullet I'd recommend only freezing it for 15mins or so if still too runny.

Also I'd use slightly less fruit next time as it was very sharp.

Still needs a bit less fruit. I'm only using about 3 or 4 cubes or frozen bits of each fruit, so that it takes up about a 3rd of the small cups but it is still a bit too sharp for me.

The trouble is you need enough frozen fruit to help freeze the soya milk. So I might try using some ice cubes to replace some of the fruit, which might help dilute the fruit flavour a bit more and still help freeze the milk.

It definitely helps when I get a craving for something sweet. As I only use a small amount of fruit and soya milk, yet it makes a lot of icecream.

Here is a video using a normal blender, but it shows what it looks like even with the nutribullet.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is good to be able to make ice cream so easily and it is much better to keep some frozen fruit and milk, than a tub of ice cream which I would go through more quickly.

Thanks very much ** koantemplation ** for this fast & fabulous ice cream method
The flavours are endless and far healthier than tubs of ice-creams
I expect it will also work in my **** Small Kenwood [ Delia's ] Mini blender **** too

One fruit smoothie you really must try is Mango and Banana smoothie

I just had one with half a banana, some frozen mango chunks and soya milk, and it was absolutely lovely.

It will now be a sweet tooth fix whenever I'm craving something sweet.

What is the red yeast rice for?

Just seen that they help with Triglyceride levels. I need to keep mine down too.

It says it is for Cholesterol Maintenance on the pack - and to take 3 capsules a day
[ Brand name is **Nature's aid** & contains 90 capsules ]
I think they looked and tasted a bit like dark chocolate powder - when the capsules were emptied
I really enjoyed this yummy thick smooth tasty smoothie

How long have you been taking them? Have they helped lower your levels?

I am taking probiotic tablets at the moment which will be good in a smoothie along with the Red Rice ones.

You could pop 3 capsules into any of your created ~drinks~
I actually left one of them still contained inside **the capsule** and it was all smooth in the end result
or you could just have them - normally

Today is the first day I have ever tried them -
They were on offer last week at Holland & Barrett's
They only arrived here a couple of days ago - I had never heard of them - till I saw them on offer the other day and thought I would try them

xxxx good luck with lowering your levels xxxx

I'm bumping this because I bought myself one for my birthday next month
(John Lewis for the extended guarantee - delivered to nearby Waitrose)
We have a Phillips juicer that just has too big a footprint on the unit, is a pain to clean and simply wastes all the fibre by separating it.
The bullet takes as much room as my stick blender on its stand.
I've already worked my way through a range of veg and fruit I'd never ordinarily consume in a day.
Last night was spinach, beetroot, apple, orange, cucumber and celery, yogurt and water with a spoon of powdered oats which was drunk earlier.
I've also used, water, ice cubes, natural yogurt, coconut water as the liquid input. I have almond milk at the ready yet to be used.
It's just quick, easy and clean and the filled cups sit in the fridge until needed.
My (expensive) Bamix stick blender would never cope with the Bullets output but is excellent for other uses.

Amazon have a range of recipe idea books at about £4.99.
I got one for smoothies and one which contains ideas for sauces, dips, salad dressings, salsas, pesto and even omelettes and pancakes.

Do I sound like the JML bloke?
I hope not

Edit: just to show I'm not an "evangelist" i have to say it does not deal well with lemon and orange skin left on. I tried that, blitzed it to Kingdom come and still had very fine rind in my mouth. I'm removing skin from now on.

I think half the people I work with have bought these over xmas. We've come back after the xmas break and they're all sat in the staff room at lunchtime drinking their green broccoli and oat concoctions or whatever they're having. One of my mates has said he doesn't even really enjoy what he's drinking he's just trying to be healthy. Sod that, food should be enjoyed, I'll stick to my nice sarnies and pork pie!

You're missing the point.
You could blitz your unhealthy lunch with some spinach, seeds and yoghurt and then it'd be healthy!

Haha.

I'm afraid this is a fad I can't get into. Even if the things tasted good I'd feel like I was in hospital after a nasty accident and having to have all my food liquidised!

I haven't used mine much. Part of the trouble is I mainly prefer fruit smoothies made with milk, rather than the veggie type made with water.

But I can't have the fruit ones because I have diabetes and they are high in sugar.

I'm having steak and baked spud tonight - I won't be blending that!
It's just a good way of supplementing your day with an input of fruit or veg, or both, that wouldn't be consumed otherwise.
Yesterday lunchtime my wife returned home and said she was famished.
Normally that means a quick fridge raid but I had a "concoction" in the fridge.
She downed it, found it to be pleasant and a few hours later remarked how filling it was.
You can't beat a bit of beetroot with mixed berries and ginger

You've contributed a lot to this thread and you've discussed making many fruit smoothies
