The problem for the BBC now, is they've created much more a "family variety show" with a ballroom dance element, which has huge ratings.
If you add up the minutes of dance on screen, they don't come to much.

The BBC feel it necessary to be "all things to all people."

"Here they are in training," they believe no longer cuts it, as it isn't considered "interesting enough," for some of the target audience.

The short answer, is they ain't going to change anything, the comedy VTs will continue.

I would definitely sign such a petition. Both Strictly an ITT have come tabloidesque and it's really putting me off them both

The J is positioned on the keyboard to help prevent the accidental pressing of the H

Fair enough. They should therefore change the name from "Strictly Come Dancing" to "Mostly Faffin Abaht, Avin a Larf and a Knees Up". As it stands it is mis-representation.

Couldn't agree more with the OP. They have killed the show for me with these rubbish, cringeworthy VTs that are supposed to be funny. They are also killing it with theme weeks like Halloween. So over-done. They should get back to giving the couples more free rein over their song choices and routines. They should stop blatantly ordering the leaderboard and giving the couple who perform in the pimp slot the highest score regardless of the quality of the routine. It's all too scripted now and has sadly gone down the Syco route of manipulation and aiming to manage the public vote.

The situation is that more people are becoming aware in which direction the shows have been "navigated" by producers.
The trouble is, an awful lot more don't seem to notice, or are particularly bothered about the changes. The BBC know that so, see no reason to change the format., with the ratings as they are and the importance attached to them. We might not like it, but you can't blame them

it does seem that that targeted audience profile is getting younger. Why else would they have a Halloween Night aimed the seven year old age bracket?
