If you were made showrunner of Doctor Who who would you cast

In all the major roles including the Doctor himself. Also what would you do if you were showrunner anything you dislike about the way its being run now? This is not an anti Capaldi thread love him I think he is awesome as the Doctor I was just wondering who you also think would be good in the role? I wrote about who I would cast in article on my blog here http://t.co/GOtK9BGk8b can't be bothered writing it all out again.

Personally I like Moffat as a showrunner from series 5 to 7. I think he has lost it now though with making Missy the Master however.

Series 6 story arc was gibberish and nonsense. Series 7 was just childish trash. IMO series 8 has been Moffat's best since series 5 so he can stay...for now.

I wouldn't just say Series 8 has been Moffat's best work I'd say it's been the best series since the revival

My problem with series 8 has been Clara (who, although much-improved, still doesn't do much for me) and some dodgy stories at the start which I didn't enjoy at all i.e. 'Into the Dalek', 'Robot of Sh*twood' and 'Time Heist'. If these stories had been stronger, and Capaldi's performances more in keeping with what we've had in the second half, then it could've been a contender. I also like story arcs (just not the one in series 6 or 7) and the series 8 arc hasn't been thrilling. I thought the 'cracks in time' thing was brilliant from series 5.

Series 4 remains my favourite, then series 5. But series 8 is close behind.

My favourite is either 5 or 1; 8 is definitely third favourite. Or maybe 3. Gosh, it's difficult!

Assuming no budget, availability or willingness issues, I'd cast:

Doctor: Terrence Stamp
Companion: Hannah Murray

I've got to admit, I was actually kinda gutted when it turned out David Morrissey's character wasn't the next Doctor as I thought he had so much potential. (Then again Matt Smith did an amazing job and I'm really loving Peter Capaldi so can't really complain too much but still feel it could've been interesting to at least give him a chance). So yeah on that note, I'd put David Morrissey forward. Idris Elba could be intersting too but knowing how well he's doing in Hollywood at the mo I doubt he'd be free to play "Who".

Oh yeah! And I think Richard Armitage would do an amazing job too, love that man to bits! But then he's also starting to do well in Hollywood too...Dammit Hollywood stop taking our best male actors!

So yeah these are the 3 choices I have for The Doctor, now time for the companion...

I think Maggie Smith would actually be quite funny to have but I doubt it'll happen , now wanting to give newcomers a chance I'd defoe put Georgina Campbell forward for the comapnion role. Why her you ask? Just watch her in "Murdered By My Boyfriend" and you'll see exactly why, such an amazing, powerful performance I still get chills just thinking about it.

That's it for now, can't really think of anyone else at the mo.

I would like to keep Peter Capaldi as the Doctor - but
if he left,
then I would LOVE to see Lee Ingleby be the Doctor.

Not sure who I'd like as companion. Will think on that one.
