Surely it's not the fact they stay in your head but to do with how quickly the song is recognised. No doubt we'll see them all on the latest Now cd........ Now that's what I call catchy 😁

Surely that's just the most recognisable songs? And taken from a web study which included just 1000 songs, so it's possible that some other well known songs were not included on the list.
The "catchy" part of the study hasn't been published yet so the headline on the article is wrong. |

If you were talking 'most recognisable', shouldn't Sweet Child Of Mine be there? I have never met anyone who didn't recognise that song immediately.
