So Nick Jonas will release a new solo album next week. I was never a fan of the Jonas Brothers but this album is shaping up to be a slick, enjoyable Justin Timberlake-esque album. Some of the tracks have already been released, I personally love Numb ft Angel Haze and Jealous is a pretty good track that got to No.27 on the Hot 100.
Anyone else liking his new direction?

I was expecting him to have a more manly voice, something a bit rockier.

I wasn't expecting a Jesse McCartney clone. He should stick to acting he seems good at that.

Okay, so it's not THEE manliest voice, but it's hardly as bad as Jesse McCartney!

I saw him live a few days ago in LA. I didn't care for the Jonas Bros (their live show was torture. I still have PTSD from all the self indulgent bullshit and screaming 12 year olds) and I went in expecting more of the same. It wasn't bad, wasn't great. He seems to want to reach the stylings of Justin Timberlake or even Sam Smith. The guy was pushing his voice to hit those high notes. Looked like it hurt.

The problem with the Jonas brothers/Nick Jonas is that they were big in about 2009/2010 for a bunch of 12 years who were obsessed with Disney, now that generation has grown up and are not interested in a disney pop star from 5 years ago. Now the Jonas brothers don't have many fans left and the newer generation like someone more modern.

The songs aren't that bad, but aren't that interesting either, like he's trying to be the new Justin Timberlake.
