Are people who are in the minimum term safe until the end of their contract?

Nobody can really make that claim.

Three could still change "The One Plan" to remove the unlimited tethering (or any other part of the offering) - even when people are in contract. Doing so would result in people being able to cancel though.

It seems that they're using a "carrot" approach though.

Keep us updated for whatever they say about the plan.

One plans dies on the 5th January 2015 - you will be moved to another plan if you don't select one (on the phone now).

A crap way to treat your customers tbh. And this is coming from someone who has been pretty happy with Three. With the whole you have to move to a different contract thing, is that just for the people they are contacting? As I am on the one plan but don't tether a huge amount and so haven't heard anything.

It is a crap way to treat your customers.

But hey, profits are better than customer satisfaction, am I right?

(In case you didn't realise, that was sarcasm)

Sorry I mean Sim only - they die in about ten weeks - you will get a text, they just seem to be staggering it to manage the calls.

People seem to think they are safe if they are low users, I'm a low user I got a text - it's about moving people onto plans that are slightly more expensive plus wiping out the hardcore of a small percentage of users who are doing 100gb a month.

So, moving from what I have now for £23... (Sim only)

2000 mins, 5000 3-3 mins, 5000 texts, unlimited data and tethering

To this for £23...

600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited handset data and 4GB tethering

Unlimited tethering is nice, used less than 500MB in 3 months however was planning to use a lot more next year when I move house and will be without BB for a while.

Plus the drop in minutes is huge. They'd have to offer me the unlimited mins/texts for £23 (instead of £28) for me to stay....

Reducing value must be their wheeze to get around not wanting to charge for 4G - just increase the profit margins instead.

Its going to affect people paying £15 the most.

The equivalent package (but with 4GB tethering) is £28pm

They've offered me nothing as I've not rung them. Not got the text myself. Just comparing the current price plans....

To be honest, if I get the text and that is the "deal" I am offered then it'll probably be over to EE for me as I'd then get 2G backup, Visual Voicemail and (soon to be) Wifi-Calling.

Ok, so I'd miss 'Feel at home' when I make work trips to the US but to be honest, on my last trip nearly all my calls were via Skype or FaceTime audio over Wifi.

Would you rather get the text on January 6th?
Its called giving notice.

Btw, even I'm not sure entirely who is being contacted. As I mentioned back in October I was told that it would just be people out of contract.

If anyone here is in a 2 year contract or still in contrsct on sim only post here so I can determine who is and isn't being contacted.

And if you're out of contract, please post here if you have / haven't been contacted.

I'm still within a 2 year contract (2 years due up in May 2015) and haven't been contacted. But I'm not a massive user (probably 5GB in a month at most, with one or two months last year of doing 15GB ish).

I guess they will send text in batches so the lines don't get jammed starting from those who are on sim only.

Worser still. It costs £19.99 a month to get 15GB/month mobile broadband now. That is even more than it cost in 2009.
