I'm not sure what it is but just don't seem to be bothered about who the killer of Lucy is. I don't know whether its because it's been dragged out too long or the fact that it's been put on the backburner for quite a while now, but I'm more interested in if Roxy finds about Aleks than finding out Lucy's killer and that's quite scary!

I probably am the only one, I don't know why but the storyline just hasn't been gripping like other whodunnits have been.

I think once the story is back on the front of the show, you will care again

Highly doubtful that you are the only one. I don't think anyone's bothered right now.

I think if it had been a character that I really cared about in the first place then maybe I'd still be interested. But, as it happens I never really liked the new Lucy so was just glad to see the back of her. The fact that the storyline is going on forever doesn't really help either, but to be fair murders aren't always solved quickly, so it is realistic in that sense. I do think though when the story builds momentum next year and we have the reveal then it will be quite good.

no you are definitely not the only one. All this story has done is show what awful people all those involved in it are.

It was pretty obvious when they said it would continue until next February that at various points during the year it wouldn't really be touched upon, and therefore it's natural that people are more interested in the stuff that we're currently seeing on screen. I expect it will pick up properly in the new year and that's when it will become more obvious whether it's been a successful storyline or not.

Exactly. I'm enjoying what we're seeing of the storyline and I'm deliberately not getting too invested in it at the moment (which I think is the point).

I didn't like the character when she was in the show ... I couldn't care less who knocked her off.

nope, you are definitely not the only one!

the storyline has been dragged out for way too long, I didn't really care for Lucy much in the first place and I really don't care who killed her!

Speak for yourself. I'm still as interested as I was when the storyline was announced.

I'm half and half im glad we seem to get a bit of a break from the S/L every so often but on the other hand I feel the storyline is dragging out far to long tbh I would mind us as a viewer having had the reveal by now even if the square doesn't

Exactly. If it was still being shoved to the forefront, people would be getting impatient and complaining about the dragging out. I quite like how it's taken a back seat and allowed to bubble away while other things are happening. I think the reveal will be very interesting indeed.

I stopped caring before it had begun. Her last episode ended on a massive anti-climax — just Lucy lying there looking as if she was asleep. Do we even know yet how she was killed?

The acting in the aftermath was fantastic, but the storyline itself is tedious, and as has already been said, it is easy to forget that the story has not been resolved yet. It has been dragged out for far too long and is only revisited in drips and drops (e.g. Lauren's stalker, Max's ambiguous comments to Abi about Good Friday).

I think the scriptwriters would really have to pull it out of the bag in the reveal to make it worth it, but I can't see it being any more a bigger shock than other killer reveals. People might have lost so much interest by that point that they won't even be gripped enough to bother tuning in.

The thing is there has been no major clues to build on just snippets here and there and hints being dropped I do wonder if they have or are filming flash back episodes filming could have coincided with the CIN special filming and would explain hettis presence on set

isn't this what happens in real life though, you see in the news that someone has been murdered, you feel sympathy, maybe apprehension if it happens somewhere local to you then it all goes quiet, and you put it out of your mind then one day a suspect or an arrest or even a conviction is made public and you remember the circumstances all over again

I think it is interesting to 'live' the aftermath along with the family left behind, they have to get on with their lives eventually, but must be constantly on alert for answers, clues from the police, word of a possible suspect, just wanting some kind of closure to try and make sense of it all.

I think this storyline is playing out perfectly, I like watching little events going on in the background like knowing that Max Lauren and possibly Abbie are potential suspects so far as the police are concerned, knowing that Ben and Jay are involved somehow because we know that Jay had Lucy's phone and purse and Ben knows he has buried it, seeing how jumpy Lauren is not realising that the person who is following her is not what he seems!

Flashback episodes would've been filmed the same time as the murder to avoid filming errors. If they were to film now, they'd need to worry about the exact place she laid, how she was lying and how she ended up in that position etc. It would take a lot of thought.

I'm still interested as things have unravelled and I look forward to Live WEek but I do find the 'suspect of the month' between other storylines a bit tedious (Jake, Lee, Jay and Ben etc) and how now other people are being revealed to have secrets on Good Friday.

I think what it is is we know it's ending on Anniversary Week so either something is a clue or a red herring to keep us guessing. When you have an eight-part drama like Broadchurch the story has to be more focused but 10 months in a soap that's on for 2hours(ish) every single week of the year is a long time!

I think however DTC has been very good at moving the show along in general and developing characters/stories.

I agree with this. Although for me, it's not really 'suspect of the month' but more 'was this person involved somehow?' I mean, we know Billy had pictures of Lucy for some reason, we know Lucy's blood was found in flat Jake was living in, we know Ben and Jay buried Lucy's phone and purse.. they're a lot of major clues that fit together in some way.

The thread title. "Am I the only one who doesn't care for Lucy anymore?"

You don't have to care for her, she died over 6 months ago.
