I'm on 5.1.1 now!

Had no problems whatsoever apart from a bug when watching videos on YouTube, but it was a minor thing. Great tablet and still working smoothly. I'm seriously impressed it's lasted this long.

There are rumours there might be a Nexus 8 tablet coming soon launching with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Might be announced at the end of the month if rumours are true.

Google have announced Android 6.0 Marshmallow will roll out to Nexus 7 2013. Roll-out begins next week.

I'm amazed it's being released for the Nexus 7 range, i just hope it doesn't make the tablet go tits-up. I had no problems whatsoever with Lollipop, but will be more cautious with Marshmallow. Think i might wait a while before i download.

I finally gave in and upgraded from 4.4.4 to 5.1.1. Seems OK, if a little slower than before and I can't see any actual advantages. The main annoyance is that the tablet still thinks it needs to upgrade to 5.1.1, but if I hit the upgrade button it just sticks on 'rebooting now'. I've wiped the cache partition, but it still nags me to do an upgrade I've already done.

Thanks, I'll try that next time the message pops up.

Anyone else receive the notification tonight on their Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 2013 to download and install Android 6.0 Marshmallow? I did. I haven't done it though.

I received a notification a couple of days ago, but the update was not to Marshmallow, it was from 5.1.1 LMY48M to 5.1.1 LMY48T.

Had a small 22 MB bugfix tonight on my Nexus 9, this was followed straight away by invitation to download 6.0 , will do this tomorrow as I have had no problems with previous updates.
Nothing has come through on my Nexus 13 yet.

Ooops! Looks like i jumped the gun. That's exactly what my update was. Had nothing to do with Marshmallow at all. Just a bug fix update and changed it to LMY48T.

Android 6 is going to make such a big difference to tablets. When sitting idle, the N9 will probably last forever!

Still nothing for me here. I remember with lollipop it was after Xmas before I got it fit some reason. I remember Samsung devices had lollipop before me with a nexus. Why so slow? Defeats the point of a nexus device.

Just received the official notification on my Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 2013 tonight to update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Update size is 334.9 MB.

I don't suppose anyone else has experienced a problem with their screen not rotating properly?

I've tried some stuff I found online including an app, and it hasn't worked, trying to avoid a complete reset at the moment.

Sometimes it is fine but then without me turning it off, it won't rotate. I'm turning it on and off up to 0 times to get it working again.

Not had that issue on Nexus 7 (2013)

and I haven't had that happen on my Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 (2013). I presume that although this thread started with Android L, that we are referring to Nexus devices running Marshmallow now?

Just downloaded Android 6.0.1 on my Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 2013.

2 years later and it is STILL an outstanding tablet and still works.

I'm just going to wait for the 2016 Nexus 7 now. My 2012 Wifi N7 is being a PITA at the moment, even downgraded to 4.4.4

The 2012 model is best forgotten. I don't use it at all now, and wouldn't even give it away. I don't hate anyone that much!

Wait, what's this? They're making a new one? Is this rumours or actually confirmed? What are the specs?

I've not heard anything myself, but it would be great news. I'm amazed Google stopped selling an affordable tablet after the 2013 Nexus 7.

For a while we had the Hudl 2, but that's gone and now most people can only get quite low spec hardware and screens for a low/modest cost.
