Mental health charity offended by Lola's song on Saturday

For a start, why do they blame Cheryl when the staging is all Brian Friedman's creation

Quote:
“Lola Saundres did a version of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy for Saturday’s spooky special, kicking off by sitting in a medical chair under a lightbulb. During the song masked performers danced with their arms behind their backs to suggest they were wearing straitjackets.”

I never noticed, but obviously some people did as they complained to OFCOM...

Totally ridiculous!!

They should blame whoever staged it.

It was the worst ever Halloween X Factor on Saturday night!!

VERY loosely based songs and poor Andrea was made to look a total prat!!

Thanks for the welcome Patti-Ann. I have been reading here for a couple of years but this year I found myself wanting to post and put a few people straight!! Ha ha. Just kidding.

I'm a life long Star trek fan. Sad but true.

I have the original on DVD

To get back on topic, it's a bit of an OTT reaction - it was a stage performance, and the focus is supposed to be on the singer, not what's going on behind them. As I said above, I didn't even notice the dancers were supposed to be in straight jackets

Me too!!

Sadly Lola was thrown under the bus. Crazy makes me want to tap my feet and sing but I thought Lola's interpretation of it was poor. ( Not that it was her fault I hasten to add ) I liked her and thought she was a nice, down to earth lass.

I hate stories like this. People are always fishing for troubled these days, can't say anything without offending somebody. I bet the charity are not even offended by Lola's performance.

That's just crazy

I don't remember anyone complaining when Aiden did Mad world dressed in a strait jacket. (My favourite performance of that year!)

Slightly OT, but I see in those pictures that Lola is wearing the complete spiderweb outfit....On the show she wore that top with a black leather skirt that looked very strange...The whole outfit looks cool I wonder what happened to it.
