If you were told 12GB and have it in your letter (I never got a letter) then you should be fine.
I just don't get why Three is even sticking to this story and wanting to check the call. Why would I even be offered 4GB anyway? It's not a plan Three offers.
What next? I find out that the unlimited texts don't apply to other networks? That I have to pay for voicemail? That I don't get 4G? That it excludes Feel at Home?
You sort of assume that the tariff you've asked for from their list of new plans is going to be the one you get, not a hybrid.
These are the plans they offer those being shunted off their current plan. 28 in total.

Where is one with just 4GB Personal Hotspot?
Edit: Three's own price guide says this:
Quote:
“You can also use your data units to set up a personal hotspot if you want to connect more than one device to the Internet at once, when in the UK. You can use any or all of your allowance for this purpose, except if you have All-you-can-eat data, in which case (depending on when your contract started and which plan you’re on) you can use up to the following number of data units each month to create a personal hotspot:
15 July 2014 - 4 August 2015: 4GB
5 August 2015 - 17 November 2015: 8GB
18 November 2015 - 12GB
* Except if you signed up between these dates to our All-you-can-eat data, 200 minutes SIM plan, in which case you can use up to 4,096 (coverts to 4GB) data units
each month to create a personal hotspot.”
So are they doing the 4GB because I originally signed up in 2013 (that's before their range for a start, and everyone would be before 18 November 2015).
And is it true that if you have AYCE data on the 200 minute plan, you only get 4GB tethering? That's not made very clear anywhere either.
What a total clusterf**k.
