I didn't get a letter, but I kept the recording of my call (I use ACR - automatic call recorder).

I have an iPhone 5s on Three with the One Plan for £41/month & my 24 months minimum contract expired last week. I have not yet received the letter informing me of the demise of the One Plan. I don't want to spend £41/month for what is now the One Plan SIM-free & will be prepared to accept the £20/month AYCE data/minutes/texts & 12GB tethering that many have negotiated. I won't rock the boat by calling Three just yet as I am moving house in a few weeks & the One Plan with 4G will be a useful backup in case there are any screw-ups with migrating my broadband.

An addendum to an earlier conversation since I moved from the One Plan to Vodafone's 12 month plan, there was talk of Vodafone not allowing any cashback, discounts or redemptions. The cashback that just appeared this morning in my Quidco account says otherwise. So the £20 deal that I went for is now effectively free for four months.

Is the cashback under confirmed or pending? If pending, it could still be revoked.

I just took a look at competing SIM-free offers & TBH £41/month for the One Plan is pretty good provided you can use all that unlimited tethered data. Vodafone SIM-only is £40/month for 20GB plus unlimited minutes & texts while EE is £35/month for 16GB plus unlimited minutes & texts

I got my letter today for one of my lines and got offered 8GB with unlimited mins and texts for 30 days rolling.

I asked my PAC code.. 8GB is a bit less for me.. if they had offered 12GB+ then I would have taken it.

EDIT: Should have gone for the Vodafone offer rather than waiting for the letter.

Just waiting to verify that I haven't returned or cancelled. Generally if they don't pay out, it just comes back as Declined soon after.

I thought Three Customer service was bad but having dealt with Vodafone the last couple of days I cannot believe they manage to be worse.

Unbelievably bad experience with trying to get a phone contract with them.

I've always been impressed with Three customer services (even though they are in another country) - I have to deal with a lot of foreign helpdesks for work (some better and some a lot, lot worse) so get use to them.

Same with me via Quidco plus 12 months free Netflix which is another £90 saving. Tremendous.

Why would any company convert a £40 a month customer to a £20 a month one?
They may want to convert £15 a month to £20 but not really the other way.

Company's tend to be in the business of making profits and you are the kind of customer they want.

Who would continue to pay over £40 a month after two years without buying a new handset?

Is Vodafone really bad? I know Vodafaone India is pants.

Have seen this option and was wondering if it's worth the hassel.

Unlimited mins
Unlimited texts
10GB data

Save over £188 Cashback by redemption

£11.50 Per month
£27.20 before cashback

Cash back by redemption sounds like a complete pain in the backside and a nice way to avoid paying it.

Just got my letter from three so also hunting around now. Vodas £27 pm + Topcashback gets the monthly total to around £21 and still with a year of Netflix. Not as good as the short deal they had but still decent. And no posting bills off

I think three might have realised large waves of letters just increases negative publicity and allows rivals a bit of a cheap shot, so they are now trickling letters out. Either that or me tethering 14gb of data last month triggered it (never used more than a few hundred tethered before).

Why would you want to still pay for a phone plus sim when you have already paid for the phone and are past your minimum term?

Anyone know when, after changing tariff, the app updates with new allowances?

I changed tariff last week and although the app and website clearly state my new tariff, it is still showing I have AYCE data and 5000 texts.

Wouldn't it only change after your next billing date?

I changed tariff the day before my billing date and was told by Three it would start the next day.

Somebody who is able to use all the benefits of the One Plan? I pointed out that other SIM-free deals are in the same price bracket. If you are tethering 20+GB per month then£41/month is a good price.

Provided of course that you need or can actually use more than 20GB of tethered data & as the One Plan is unavailable to new subscribers then £41/month for AYCE unlimited tethering is good value compared to Vodafone (£40/month for 20GB) or EE (£35/month for 16GB).

Got my letter today, moving me to a £30 plan (with £3 discount), doubling the price I pay.

Once I get back from NYC I think I'll PAC over to EE and get a PAYG SIM for when I'm away.

Sods law - for the first time in 3 years I've actually got indoor 4G then wham, letter arrives through the door offering the same £30 deal!!! F'ing hate Three!

But I am not offered the all you can eat data + minutes plan which allows for 12GB tethering hotspot stuff a month.

I am struggling to see anything better out there at the mo?

Any suggestions?

Hi, first time poster. I myself had the One Plan and did utilise the unlimited tethering. I watch a lot of Netflix during commute as I travel up to an hour each way every work day. I would have used my tablet too, etc.

Anyway, since I live in rural area with REALLY bad Internet speeds, I would have supplemented the broadband with the One Plan's unlimited tethering. I'm now on that £25pm contract, with 600mins, unlimited data etc. For me, it's an extra £6pm for less services that I truly need i.e. data usage, now that my unlimited tethering is reduced to 12GB limit. Speaking to 3UK's god awful Customer Service team was a waste of time, it's like speaking to a wall.

Hate to think what products will be like if O2 merger is agreed. Though one good thing is I live in NI, so 3UK have the special trial deal of Home Mobile broadband - 40GB for £20pm on a 12mth contract. I hope they don't discontinue it anytime soon!

So to recap, in the past, paying £19pm gave me everything, now I have to pay £45pm - 1x£25 sim only contract and 1x£20 Home Mobile Broadband.

I got another letter from Three, so maybe it's all back up in the air!

No sooner did I think everything was sorted, but this letter arrived;

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jzj3yrh73w...r2016.jpg?dl=0

Clearly confirming that they messed up a LOT of accounts, although in my case I was being charged £30 not £25, but nothing surprises me anymore.

What worries me is that after supposedly resolving this issue last week, I now run a risk of them 'correcting' my bill next month - overriding things and shoving me back on the £30 plan.. and leading to another letter, long phone call and stress.

I hope Three thinks it is all worth it in the end. What's especially nice is how it says I was being undercharged, but they've kindly fixed it..! That's the sort of stuff banks put in letters when announcing the wonderful low interest rates when writing to savers...
