At midnight tonight I will find out if Three has finally put me on the right plan and adjusted my account to refund me what I was overcharged.
Anyone want to place bets? Fair play Three, you made it right in the end. Still have to see what you offer my wife though... |

Spoke too soon as I've lost the 2000 3to3 minutes. It still has it as a special offer on My3 so hopefully a simple webchat can fix that.

Quoting myself - they've only gone and got it right. Right plan, right price and honoured the refund which means my bill next month is -£11!

Is there any truth to the price rise mentioned on the last page? Considering a return to three in around 6 weeks, but with another £3 price increase it'll throw a spanner in the works

Funny you mention that I was awoken by a phone call from the Amazon delivery guy at my locked gate earlier today with a delivery ! Wasn't expecting that on a bank holiday.

I know couriers sometimes do deliver on Sundays and holidays, but I didn't think the Royal Mail did.

Now being escalated to the "manager"... Let's see what is offered. |

So far I have been offered 200 mins, AYCE data with 12Gb personal hotspot, unlimited texts for £20 after complaining about the price rise.
Now being escalated to the "manager"... Let's see what is offered. 12 month SIM only - AYCE data, 4Gb personal hotspot, unlimited texts, 600 minutes, including 2000 3/3 minutes added on as special dispensation for £20 a month. As I need the security of the 12Gb personal hotspot that has been offered to others, I have requested and received my PAC code. The ball is back in their court! |

I'm amazed they are using 4GB personal hotspot as a bargaining tool, given AYCE data plans should always have 12GB!

All they've offered is technically a legacy tariff!

When you view their plans (as directed to when you get the letter) you never see such offers with less personal hotspot allowances. So if you're trying to negotiate then you'd assume you are asking for a plan as advertised and haggling over the cost. Yet, they're actually saying 'Hey, sure you can pay less' and then giving you a lesser deal. |

They're basically digging out an old tariff, and using that as a way of offering a discount - so they can then charge more (or try to) for what you should get anyway. Talk about underhand.

Also I'm suspicious, wondering what's the advantage to three of doing this rather than offering discount on the current tarrifs. Personally I think their is a marker put on the account and in 12 months time customers with these legacy offers will be booted of the tarrifs again with three claiming again they are tidying up the old tarrifs. |

I think their kind offer to put people on 30 day rolling contracts is more for their benefit than ours. I do think they've seen they can get away with significant price rises and Ofcom not raising an eyebrow. To do this, you need to be out of contract (obviously if they've provided a handset it's different, but on SIM-only they can do what they like).
Why do annual RPI increases when you can just discontinue a tariff and put people on a new one that is 10, 20, 50 or 100% more? Now Sky is putting up prices for customers who have just ordered Sky Q and may not even have it installed yet.. but already they're being told the prices advertised at launch are going up in June! Why aren't our regulators looking at this and saying 'woah, hang on a minute'. I know that in the case of Three, their get out is that you're free to leave, but if the same policy was adopted for everything then we could end up having car insurance that doubles part way through a year (but, no worries, you can just cancel your policy and be uninsured instead) and the same for gas, electric, water rates... I see no reason for Three to dig out plans they had in 2013 (namely 4GB personal hotspot) which then went to 8 and then 12, and offer those to people who want a discount. It's not a discount then is it? It's a different plan! A discount would be money off the plan you've been offered. |

Why aren't our regulators looking at this and saying 'woah, hang on a minute'. e.g. 070 numbers - after years of abuse Ofcom finally decided to make phone companies play a recording saying that it isn't a mobile number and will cost 49p per minute. They soon backtracked on that after the lobbyists (working on behalf of the peddlers of such numbers) got onto them. They obviously think that the original ban on mid contract price rises was a job well done, but you'll have to give it a few years before they look at whether the new "your bill will go up by RPI + x" bollox is reasonable |

It's funny that for a while Three was against the mid-term price increases and made loads of jokes at the expense of other operators.. then U-turned, while also pushing ahead with the ultimate 'deception' of changing plans, so they can charge whatever they like.
Jackson should get into politics one day! |

Moved over to BT today and I amazed at the signal penetration inside the buildings including the speed.

After their recent performance a 12 month deal is probably the best option for sim only if you can get a good deal
