A lot of people did today going by Twitter, and more and more 'influential' people in the media are getting them.

The letters usually arrive on a Tuesday but I guess they were delayed because of Easter.

It's such a PR nightmare, but I will stop there to save repeating myself for the 1000000th time!

I bet they wish they could have done it all at once! At least then the bad PR is limited to a much shorter time frame. But of course there is no way their customer services could deal with the number of calls they would get if it was all done at once!

I know it's been a while now since 3 started shifting people away from the 1 plan etc.

Any idea if this is hitting there customer numbers ?

It's probably of no significance, but when the doubling of prices was in the media, I noticed that the the shops in a c city centre were deserted. Whereas other phone shops were busy

I know many that haggled for a better deal (and got what they wanted) but also many that left as they probably didn't want the hassle of having to negotiate. Or were just so angry they wanted to stick it to Three.

Given all the advances on EE of late (VoLTE roll out, 800 switch on imminent) it also gave some people the final push. Now EE is doing its 16GB plan including EU calls/minutes for £19.99 a month, it's really just Feel at Home that makes Three worth staying on for a lot of people (I say a lot, as some will obviously use more than 16GB data and need to stay with Three also).

Looks like Three have just introduced a 30GB sim only and increased the hotspot on new AYCE data tariffs to 30GB.

@ £33.00 per month. Think I'll stick with my 25GB / £15 deal from EE

I think the price on the £30 AYCE plans will be increasing soon as they are currently the same as the new 30GB plans if I read the price list correctly.

As I said, AYCE will be pushed up in price or even axed. My money is on it becoming more expensive, so Three can still boast about it.

At present the 12GB 1 month plan looks very uncompetitive compared to 30GB 1 month. I assume they plan to do something about that

I chose to leave 3 & join BT for £16 per month 20gb and unlimited everything else. Ok so its only £4 cheaper but the principle of a 40% price hike was to much for me plus i now get unlimited minutes which is a bonus and the 20gb limit is more than enough for me

So the previous deals have been:

Vodafone - 20GB/unl/unl @ £20 (tethering)
BT - 20GB/unl/unl @ £16 (no tethering)

EE are offering - 16GB/unl/unl @ £16.49 (existing customers) or £20 (anyone).

Even though I managed to secure 8GB/unl/unl @ £15 (30 day) the draw for EE levels of service and WiFi calling that works properly (not to mention VoLTE coming) is fairly compelling. I'm glad I did not tie in to a 12 mth contract with Three.

What other compelling offers are out there?

Should be interesting to see what the new plans will be on EE next month (or May) if they consolidate with BT. I guess this will mean BT users will get VoLTE/800 too, as it would be crazy for EE to exclude anyone.

Sooner or later I'd hope legacy Orange and T-Mobile users get access to 4G too.

So no call from the retentions team, so I rang again and after a bit of badgering was put through to the complaints team (the Indian lady I was speaking to most definitely didn't have a Glaswegian accent though!)

They agreed that the original package I was offered from "the manager" was incorrect after I pointed out their own SIM price guide at http://bit.ly/1tel9qM (page 24) which states that the 4GB personal hotspot was done away with on 5th August 2015, with 12GB in place from 18th November 2015!

Irrespective of the new 30GB allowance in place from today, they still kept trying to persuade me to take a new 12GB PH plan though!

They are now going back to the recorded conversation with "the manager" to confirm what I was told was available, and will contact me within the next 48 hours.

I thought BT had already announced that they planned to keep EE separate (like Plusnet is)?

They'd still need the BT branded MVNO for any "triple play" bs

Have you tried tethering, which is allegedly disabled?

They might keep independent brands, but standardise certain things, like tethering, EU calls, VoLTE etc.

BT recently started offering faster 4G, for example.

Unfortunately that is something that will never happen. The Orange and T-Mobile brands WILL be disappearing completely at some point. BT are now effectively paying for a licence to use those names. There will come a time where people will be forced off presumably... (I don't know for sure but there is no sense in running three brands)

Its certainly disabled on iphone with a BT carrier profile.

However it works fine on Android and older iphones running ios7 where the carrier profile is EE. i.e. it works on my android and my iphone4 but not on my iphone 6.

I've had a text to say my tariff is changing too, except I am on the Ultimate Internet SIM 200 tariff. Are they ditching people off that too?

Unfortunately my three account address wasn't up to date so I didn't see the letter - only the txt.

I find BT capping my DL speeds to 30mbps.

With the EE sim I get 90mbps+ in the same location.

By default they do.
But they have started to offer an "Extra Speed" add on for £4 a month.
Officially this raises the limit to 60Mbps, though i am not sure if that is actually then a cap or if it is just the headline speed they use (EE also use, or at least used to use, 60Mbps as a headline speed for their double speed tariffs).

Just spoke to 3 for over an hour and eventually agreed to go to the deal that's 200 minutes, 12GB data for £20 a month on a rolling one month contract. Would have been £17 if I agreed to go on a 12 month contract but no way was I doing that. I travel a lot so use 'Feel At Home' quite a bit which is why I stayed with 3. Has anyone else got a better deal? My Mum has just got the new iPhone from Apple...3 agreed to put her on the same contract as me but she gets it for £15 a month plus she gets 2,000 extra 3 to 3 minutes.

AYCE data with 12GB Hotspot, 600 mins + 2000 3 to 3 and Ultd texts. Monthly rolling for £17.

I've not had the letter, but figured I might do, so have been looking around at deals. The EE unlim calls+sms, 16GB data for £20 looks quite appealing!

My current deal with Three is 600 minutes (plus 300 3-3), unlimited texts, AYCE handset data and 4GB tethering for £18/month. The 12 month term on this ran out back in August 2015 so I'm just on a monthly rolling deal currently.

I called Three to get my Pac, they informed me that since my deal was not legacy it was not going to be cancelled at present - it would just merrily carry on. I'm not entirely convinced, my £18 deal was sold at the same time as the £12.90 200mins/unlim SMS/AYCE tariff which is being canned.

They did provide another offer though, which was Unlimited Calls, Unlimited SMS and 30GB of data to share between handset/tethering for £20 a month on a 12 month contract. It didn't take any real haggling, it was offered up almost straight away! Since my data usage is rarely over 10GB that would be more than ample for me.
