Three don't have a marketing department. They have an anti-customer department.

Exact same letter i got last Friday.

I was wondering whether they do a deal where i sign up for 12 months instead of pay monthly and still get the £3 discount so i'd pay £17.

Has anyone been successful or tried this?

I also understand the Indian call centre can't discount so is there a best time to call?

TIA

Have Three stopped giving long term loyal customers loyalty discounts? The reason I ask is because my contract has finished and I phoned Three asking to get upgraded to the 30gb hotspot plan for the same price I was paying for the current 4gb hotspot plan I'm on which is £17 per month.

They told me that even though I have been a loyal customer for years they cannot give me a loyalty discount. I was very unhappy when they told me they cannot give me a loyalty discount because I am on the plan with unlimited handset data and it costs Three a lot of money anyway to get unlimited data even if it's just for the handset.

I am really not wanting to move elsewhere as Three are the only company who do unlimited data even if it's just for handsets now but this has disappointed me.

They can do discounts, but some people within Three like to pretend they don't, or can't, and even say that anyone who says they did get a discount is lying!

I reckon that as I'm now on a 30 day rolling contract that I'll leave at some point this year. My wife has already gone, and my parents (almost the only people I actually speak to on the phone these days) will leave once they get their letters.

The only thing that is currently keeping me is the fact that I have a home signal box, and I won't want to get the equivalent one from EE if I were to move over

I'm hoping that 800Mhz will fix the problem though. Three's 800MHz certainly has.

EE Wifi calling works very well on my Nexus 6P with no extra box needed.

Yeah, for me too. However, my home broadband can drop out from time to time.. and although it will reconnect and sync quite quickly (less than a minute) I am actually not too keen on using Wi-Fi or even a femtocell.

I've got a Sure Signal for Vodafone and it's the same problem, albeit a very rare one given how few calls I make or receive.

I find WifiCalling rock solid on my iPhone, never needs rebooting and connects to every wifi network I encounter (even the free wifi in Tesco).

I ended up upgrading my £17 a month plan to the 30gb hotspot plan for £20 a month. I tried so hard to get a loyalty discount but Three wouldn't entertain me.

For those who managed to get a loyalty discount you must of performed some Jedi mind tricks with Three.

I tried getting a loyalty discount at my local Three store and I have tried twice phoning Three customer service but they wouldn't give me a discount even though I have been a loyal customer for four years.

Anyway, because Three are the only phone company doing unlimited data I had no choice but to stay. I am wondering if I should file a complaint to get the loyalty discount.

I just emailed saying I wasn't happy that I was going from £12.90 a month to £20 a month and it was only £20 because of a £3 loyalty discount. The same plan was online for new customers for the same price!!!

They phoned me back the next day and after I missed their first call, they called me again and said no problem. If I agree to a 12mth contract they can do it (200mins, ultd data, ultd texts and 30gb hotspot) for £17 a month.

Do you think I should complain or is it too late? Considering I upgraded my plan yesterday even though I was unhappy with price.

The mad muppet in charge at Three has degenerated to completely certifiably insane.

Other than that, not much...

Well, let's see. First the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. (Unquote:Airplane 1980).

On the plus side, I now have voice calling over 4G (saving £450 of a Sony Z5 compact ), Sharon White of Ofcom looks to be going to jail in a particularly nasty court case.

Other than that, not a lot.

So what else is new

Anyway, I should probably note that I left my previous job a while back to pursue new interests and so that means that I don't have access to the same types of data that I did before. In other words I can't really be the guy who provides all the news before it becomes news. Still talk to people in the industry though.

But for now the majority of my time and effort is spent in a new role in a different industry, hence why I haven't had time to post here much!

Ah, so what info can you disclose now that you've left the industry?
