Just an update guys.,
I received my text on 5th November and ignored them since, as I was waiting for them to contact me or send me a letter of confirmation.
The Indian call centre called me other day and the guy I spoke to was very polite and helpful trying to flog me 200 minutes, unlimited text & data and 4gb hotspot for £15! and telling me how great the offer was that I would get 0800 etc free but then I told him I get 0800 numbers free at home anyway and I would not pay more or same for less that I was not happy with his offer.
I told him I could not justify paying same for much limited package and I would be considering either going PAYG or moving to other network then he went on to say other network deals are not as good as Three’s offer etc until he realised I was not budging and I had no intention of accepting his offer
Then volla! He suddenly he offered me AYCE minutes / AYCE text / AYCE handset data and 4gb hotspot for the same amount of £15!
Needless to say I have accepted his offer and I have checked my 3 app which confirms I have the AYCE everything from my next billing date.
Although I am not 100% happy that unlimited tethering has gone, I did not tether much anyway but it was good to know that it was there if and when needed, I guess this was inevitable as the mobile networks not built to replace home broadband.
I guess at some stage something has to give and the customer and the company must compromise. In my case, as everyone else, I have lost the unlimited tethering but gained unlimited minutes.
My suggestion to everyone who is about to contact them or to be contacted by them, be prepared to haggle and threaten to leave if what they offer is not a good value and make your point. They will try to make you pay more for less but I refused to accept it on principle and cut a much better deal.
I hope you can all get the same deal as well, don’t give up, and don’t pay more for less fight for the consumer power
