I have a load of SIMs too, although I only have one contract SIM (Tesco), the others are just PAYG SIMs that I occasionally put money on.

It does confuse my friends when my number randomly changes
I have 2 SIM's myself.
Tbh I can't judge because I have a thing for collecting mobile numbers

I have two numbers where the same digit repeats 7 times in a row and the other digits are the same in both numbers but just swapped around. So I have two of the same number pretty much.

Who said you will only be able to check a few e-mail and watch the occasional short videos with 4GB tethering limit on a 3 pay monthly limit.

I listen to tunein, watch length videos on youtube and various other audio, flickr, Google earth etc on my mobile with my 3 £15 AYCE data sim inserted and I don't need to tether to do so.

Nice try!

I'm going to be phoning Three tomorrow to cancel my move to PAYG and I'm going for the Vodafone sim only 20GB plan. Can get friends and family discount on it..

Reason? Yes it'll cost more but I'm not convinced that Three will continue unlimited data on their £15 add-on as it was "accidentally" changed to 3GB online for a while.... The cynic in me says that's the next to change and I can't be dealing with chopping and changing all the time. Plus I'd get signal in my house where at the moment I'm using the wifi app....

The other reason is I don't want to give my money to a company that is now hell bent on changing the goalposts all the time. I'd rather pay a few quid more to Voda.

EDIT: actually - I'd be ordering via topcashback and I'd get 6 months Netflix free (I'm paying at the mo) so actually it would work out cheaper that what I'm paying now lol

Watching videos on a phone screen is hardly comparable to the same experience you have watching them on a laptop screen.

How do you guys organise it? Diffferent phones or a dual sim adaptor? I was thinking of getting the MagicSim, but I'm not sure if it works as well in pratice as it seems to in the adverts.

Depends.

Sometimes I use a Dual SIM phone, other times I have two phones.

My current set up is using two phones but I plan to go back to a Dual SIM phone so that I can use both SIM Cards on the same phones.

Unfortunately Dual SIM phones are not popular in the UK and hence most people here carry two phones or use magic SIM. Magic SIM will work but it won't be as good as a Dual SIM phone and you can't use both SIM cards at the same time.

It'll be very very soon.

In fact I think Dangetti mentioned above that they're currently selling it over the phone if you ask about it.

Typical Vodafone Premium Price, Poor data network. Nothing to recommend it at all!
Well, I've been testing SIMs on other networks since I've got sick of Three's congestion and actually most of the time I've tested, Vodafone is faster (in London anyway). Here are some screenshots of speedtests from Monday in Brixton:

That's Vodafone 3G being faster (for download) than Three 4G! (2.7Mbps vs. 4.8Mbps).

Even when I thought I could keep paying £15/month for the One Plan I was starting to think I should just pay more to go with another network, there's no way I'd pay £25/month to stay with Three.

Here's another screenshot of a Three's 4G speeds in Covent Garden in Sep:

Yes that's 0.2Mbps down! I used to work very close to Covent Garden and this speed was typical.

If Hutchison want their customers to pay more they need to sort their network out first.

Expect this campaign regarding people being moved off old plans to ramp up in December.

Lots of people about to be sent letters and stuff.

Do you know how many that is? Must be huge if it's all legacy plans.

The numbers I have show that over 1 million customers will be affected.

There are ~250,000 customers on "The One Plan Sim Only 12 Months" tariff alone. That's not even counting customers on the one plan 1 month and 24 month versions or any other customers on legacy tariffs.

Actually I was thinking much more than 1 million. I'm assuming "old" tariffs are everything before they introduced free 0800? ~6 million contract customers less those on mobile broadband. There can't be a massive proportion on the new tariffs yet can there? Unless we are only talking about the ones currently out of contract for now?

That's where I'm not sure.

I was told over 1 million but i'm not sure if they're talking about just One Plan customers, or whether that number is out of contract customers, or whether 1 million is referring to something else.

What I do know is the 250k number is correct for the amount of customers on the SIM Only 12m version. This number doesn't include One Plan users on 1m or 24m tariffs.

You might be interested in this post I made earlier this month-

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...&postcount=225

Those in the top 10% of data users on the One Plan currently consume around 23GB a month whilst overall (including all tariffs) the average top 10% of data users use over 13GB a month. The average data usage per month for all customers on Three is 2.6GB per month

Average data use on Three:

AYCE with unlimited tethering - 5.6GB
AYCE with 2GB/4GB tethering- 4.8GB
2GB Data cap - 1.2GB
500mb data cap- 0.2GB

My other half has been kept on The One Plan 2011. She went into the Three shop to get an early upgrade on her phone. Amazingly they kept her on The One Plan 2011. Its on the paper work. Any thoughts?

Is VOD 3G any good in Plymouth? Do you not stray from the city? They have sod all 3G outside of it.
Not judging, just asking.

Update

Having discussed this with jabbamk1 it appears confusingly that Three haven't updated some of the information on their IT system properly and she hasn't been kept on the One Plan. Thanks jabbamk1 for your help

No worries. Thought it was a bit strange as I know the one plan can't be sold any more.
