Not judging, just asking.”

I spend 99.5% of the month in the City and 0.5% travelling to Penzance and back. Whilst I'm travelling I'm driving anyway but it used to be GPRS all the way down so no streaming Internet radio. Now it's about 75% covered.

If it was a real bother I'd tether my phone to the EE iPad that would be in the car anyway.

I could stay on Three and "put up" with their changes but now they're setting a precedent who knows what they'll do next? I'm not sure I can trust them. And to be fair if i can get a deal where I can call my wife and daughter in HD voice while at work and spend less than I do now, why not?

Nah. I'll stay for the okay network, unlimited data and home signal box (which EE seem to refuse to offer without a fight and/or some money, whereas 3's is free). Don't feel like paying even more for even less just to make some sort of point.”

"Home signal box", doesn't that kind of defeat the point of a mobile?

Fair enough, fair enough. All good points. I just wish EE would upgrade that TM mast at The Eden Project to 4G so when my kids are whining in the tropical biome I can just ignore them, don my anorak and download my app updates in double quick time.
Hahahahaha.....
Oh god, I need to go to bed now!!!!!
Good God, it's 02:01am
Night all.

There's an EE mast at the Eden project? Do no other networks get coverage there then?

Think I can top that. I do a lot of work in Kenya and make a lot of use of cellular connections. When travelling I carry with me 3 phones (one being dual sim), 2 iPads, 2 laptops, a cellular router and a cellular USB stick.
Excluding other family members, just consulting my SIM database I appear to have -
UK
3 x Three
1 x EE
1 x Orange
1 x Giffgaff
Kenya
5 x Airtel
7 x Orange
4 x Safaricom
8 of those have active monthly contracts for which I pay the bill. The others are PAYG.

No. 3's network works fine except in my house, where none of the networks do particularly well anyway. If I only used my mobile at home then it'd be pointless to have one, might as well just use the landline. After all, the point of a mobile is mobility.

So on 3 I get a decent 3G network and excellent coverage at home. With EE I'd have to pay more for the same decent 3G network and wrestle to get the same box for use at home.

Three had good coverage there (3G) in the summer, I assume it's covered by MBNL.

I went in the summer too and good coverage on Three 3G, having said that I was enjoying the Eden project not needing 4G for anything. I can't really think why you would need 4G there.

Surely quite a normal reaction to the way Three have treated their One Plan customers? (and probably all other old plan customers in the near future).”

It seems to me he is cutting his nose to spite his face and I agree that is a childish reaction. If Three is still the best value for money then why can't people just get over it and use whatever suits them best.

Can't comment on the Eden Project specifically but I live not too far away and MBNL 3G is rock solid around here, 20Mbps+ easy from the masts that serve me.

St. Austell itself is on 3's list for 4G by the end of the year though, but given the glacial progress from EE on 4G here (while covering tiny places up country) it sounds as if Cornwall has some larger issue that is going to hold it up

+ is any element of that staff or friends and family discount (I also haven't read back, so I assume we're talking about an EE plan)

It's a Vodafone sim only taking into account various discounts and free Netflix for 6 months etc

Starting on a 4gb sim only (taking advantage of the data test drive) then moving to 20gb 3 months later, staff discount from a mate, free Netflix for 6 months (currently paying for it so a legitimate saving) plus topcashback...

Have there been any more texts? if not they only have a few days to contact us if they want us to switch by 5th jan.

I am suspecting that they have only contacted the heavy users and everyone else either gets more time as they slowly implement throughout 2015 or they were only ever going to contact heavy users whose business they didnt want.

Everyone who is on the older contracts or The One Plan that ends in Jan. Which is a huge amount of people only who are left now is the Sim Onlys.

I'm not going to bother argue because you always seem to do this thing where you say one thing and then claim you said something else.

What you said was that they contacted everyone. They have not contacted everyone.

Okay correction

They've contacted all The One Plan customers which should be at the end of the contract now, and The One Plan Sim Onlys which are out becoming out of contract soon, and the older contracted plans.

The One Plan Sim Only customers that contract expire on June are fine until it hits 30 days before the end of the contract then you'll be notified.

Personally it was easier to say the other as it was kinda obvious exactly what I mean since they can't go against the terms and conditions of the contract till 30 days before the end of the contract but whatever makes you happy jabbamk1
