Great thanks that worked. I thought it would ask me my password etc if I tried it via chrome, as I usually use My3 app on the phone, but it just took me straight to my account and I got all the usage details now. I usually monitor it on my phone but the results were quite close there as well.

Next question is;

how did you manage to use 145GB data in 30 days?

I have checked my usage for the last 6 billings and I have used up only 90GB over 6 months that's an average of 15GB pm.

You have done well there!

I bet as soon as you are out of your minimum term with your one plan they will text or call you to change your plan.

fair enough. I'll probably move to a 30 day sim initially if moved off 3. Happy to keep Three if the price stays the same and they make the tethering limited which I dont care too much about.

It can happen if you have opted to turn on compression in Chrome, which may hide your identity and require a login even though you're on your phone.

That happens when roaming too. Want to add the Euro Internet Pass? Well, if you've got it (settings/reduce data usage set on), chances are you won't be able to. What's more, you'll be consuming data while you try!

I've not had anything off Three yet telling me of the changes, but given the recent problems I have had with them then I might be off.

Vodafone have offered me a good deal with only 6GB of internet and Now TV (with movies). I've got Now TV with movies anyway so with that cost taken away my bill is more or less nothing.

But 6GB can only last so long, so I will have to cut a lot of internet out and start using the wifi again

When you get Now TV on Vodafone, does usage come out of the data allowance or is it free as I believe movies on EE were/are?

Otherwise 6GB won't go very far if you use it a lot. One movie alone can be around 1GB even at 720p.

It comes out of your data just like anything else. But I suspect the typical Now TV user won't be using it so much on their phone but on something that connects to their TV using wifi where they don't have Sky (if they had Sky they could use Sky Anywhere). It's just the account they need. Same I guess with Netflix.

I have a Now TV box anyway, so I won't be using the 6GB allowance on Now TV.

That's a fair point, but it would be so much better if Vodafone didn't use your allowance - especially given the TV advertising.

You would like to think so.

If you watch the BT advert for their 'TV service' you would think that using the internet for the TV would not come off your allowance.....that is until you read the small print at the bottom of the screen that says for that introductory price you get '20GB on internet a month'. So not actually unlimited.

Actually BT don't take data used on BT TV out of your allowance

I'm going to have to look at that advert when it comes on again very carefully because I am sure that it doesn't say that on the screen

Last year I think it was just BT Sport where they didn't take anything from your allowance with BT Broadband.

I had a call from three today and was offered unlimited texts, calls, data and 4gb tethering for £21 including a month to month contract.

How much are you paying now?

Currently £18 as I have a £7 one plan discount reducing the price from £25. The guy said he carried it over for me. I asked if it would be lower on a 12 month contract and was told it would not as the loyalty discount can only be carried over on 1 month contracts.

The letter I received stated they would automatically move me to the 600 minutes at £23 option on a monthly contract so I cannot really complain.

Fair enough.

This sounds like the outbound team I was told about who are targeting customers affected by the forced plan migration with offers at the same price/higher than what they're paying now.

Quite possibly. It is still a better deal than the one I was offered when I called them after receiving my text. It's also better than the one in my letter so whilst it's an increase, it's not as big an increase. To be fair, the guy also offered me 200 mins, unlimited text and data at £15 but I didn't want to limit myself and have a 12 month contract.

Hey Jabba
Any news on the O2 refresh style plans you mentioned on one off these threads a while back?

Final sign off is imminent if not already happened.

Should see them launch H1 2015.

New MBB plans are scheduled for Q1 2015.

My mobile contract is up in May 2015 so will see what they have on offer. Can of course upgrade early so I think that would be in March so may be in the position to pick in choose if we get some pre-release details

As far as I'm aware we're not going to see any data increases (as in more than 4GB then unlimited) but I could be wrong as I haven't actually seen the plans and probably won't until much closer till launch.

Im a very low data (120Mb per month on average) so its no big deal. I think 2GB would be enough as a safety margin. Im looking for value for money more than anything. Plus a great 3G / 4G data network.
