What sort of discount is someone likely to get on a Three mobile broadband contract for being an ex-customer? Has anyone here been offered such a discount recently?

When I cancelled my One Plan today via web chat, Three told me I might be eligible for a discount on a mobile broadband plan, so it sounds like it depends on what the current offers are.

Why not ask the people that can give you the information! Call them and ask...

I have an EE limited edition SIM that will last until the end of February so im going to phone Three around then, as it only makes sense to phone them when I intend to sign up.

I was just wondering if anyone else got a discount because some people in this thread have said that Three are no longer giving out discounts, or does that only apply for phone contracts?

Three still do some stuff for MBB tariffs.

But I'd wait till feb for new tariff launches.

Yeah, Three do still do discounts for mobile broadband accounts if you've got another contract. They can also give you more data, such as 1GB instead of 500MB.

Does this mean you need to contact Three before your current contract reaches the end term? Or is being an ex-customer sufficient to get a discount?

You need to be a current customer.

I take it that being a PAYG customer doesn't count as being a current customer? I asked Three to switch me to PAYG at the end of the one plan contract period.

Impressive.

That works out at around 600GB+ a month. How does he find the performance overall? Ever been throttled heavily or found it unusable or is it a good consistent connection for him?

Shifting a consistent 5 to 6 Megabytes a second when downloading so thats between 40 and 50 Megabits per second speed wise which was on par with EE who I'm on for the area. Both on 4G.

Fair enough. Must be in an area with low congestion and it really is amazing just how far mobile connections and data usage has come. Even in just the past few years.

Thanks for letting me know. Very interesting data usage to look at. I'm sure he's not thrilled about the 4GB tethering cap being implemented soon.

Nope, he's taking his business to EE, he got the free pay as you go test drive sim and burned through the full 100GB in 1 day!

120 megabytes data he's using for the month on average is not much at all.

My friend is *STILL* on her One Plan with Unlimited Tethering and she was out of contract is June 2013? Is she still yet to be contacted by Three about the plan changes or not

One thing to note her data usage is 1GB or less...
