I'm hoping I'll get contacted after EE refresh their tariffs.
Whilst I'd go back, the price and data allowances would have to be right. Right now, I'd feel I was being ripped off for, frankly, not enough data for the price. And, despite some of the grumblings I see on here, my service from Three has been, and continues to be, excellent. So, as long as I negotiate good terms for myself with regard to the new plans, why would I want to move and get even less for even more of a monthly fee? |

I haven't had a letter, phone call, or text. Like others I may wait and see what EE have to offer before committing to anything else with 3, especially now that EE has started to get 4G closer and closer to me

I don't know how many times I will say this but for the 38583893478th time... it's a phased approach. Everyone will be contacted and moved onto a new plan in time. Some in Jan, some in Feb, some after etc...
Nothing to do with how much data you're using. You WILL move over to a new plan. |

I think everyone is already aware of that, but it is still interesting to see if anyone has been contacted and what they are getting offered

that I was not paying more for less then we offered me everything AYCE + 4gb tethering for £15pm which I accepted it.Then about a week later I received a letter telling my one plan was changing and I would be moved to 200 or 600minutes plan, obviously they did not realise that I had already talked to them and accepted new offer. Then recently I received another call from their Indian call centre telling me my plan was changing! Then I told him if you are calling from 3 you must see from my account that my plan has already changed and I have AYCE data on everything already he then apologised and I hung up ![]() Instead of trying to contact me 3-4 times they should contact those who have not been contacted. Clearly their left hand does not know what the right hand does at the moment! |

Nah, it's alright if they keep contacting you and therefore can't get around to me until 2020...!

I contacted Three via web chat on 22nd December to cancel my One Plan contract. They told me id receive a text message to confirm this within 12-24 hours, but it's now about 75 hours later and I haven't received a text.
Those who have cancelled their One Plan, did you receive a text for confirmation? |

give it a week and I will tell you the answer.
As I understand it the higher 4g frequencies EE have are weaker signals but faster, so by that I mean less indoor penetration. Whether thats worse or better dont know yet. I can tell you tho my sister on EE 3G absolutely demolishes Three 3G at my flat. EE's coverage checker gives me these ratings. 2G 5 bars indoor and outdoor 3G 5 bars indoor and outdoor 4G 5 bars indoor and outdoor Double Speed 4G 3 bars outdoor only. Aside from congestion issues I dont like the fact Three has no 2G. |

As for 4G, Three and EE both use 1800MHz at the moment, so the same, and both will be using 800MHz. |

In my house EE and three 3G signal is roughly the same strength. However as there is no 2g fallback it spends much longer connected to 3G than EE which is quite eager to flip to gprs

Actually I don't even know why I even asked that question. My work phone is on EE and it walks all over 3 for indoor data speeds. I have yet to test out streaming etc after 3pm when 3 crawls to a halt. That will be my main test in terms of whether i move to EE myself.

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in...
I'm allowed to upgrade my Three contract today but didn't want a new phone as my current one works ok. I was disappointed to find that there was nothing on the upgrade page about just changing to a sim only deal of lower cost than the £36 a month I'm paying now. I just used the web chat function of the Three site and spoke to a nice lady who gave me this, which starts on 10th Jan 2015, even though my one plan contract wasn't due to expire until 4th feb 2015... I've accpeted this at £15 a month: You’ve opted for SIM All You Can Eat Data, 200 minutes (12Months) which includes 200 minutes-any network, All-you-can-eat text messages and All You Can Eat data allowance which can be used as a personal hotspot 4GB allowance. This package also inlcudes 300 3 to 3 minutes. For your AYCE data plan 4GB can be used as personal hotspot allowance. Personal hotspot is a plan feature and can be used as long as the phone supports the feature. Calls to voicemail will come out of your inclusive voice allowance or will be charged at the out of bundle rate of 35p a minute if you've used all of your allowance. From 10/01/2015 you will be able to enjoy free calls to 0800 numbers and pay only 5 pence per minute for calls to 084 and 087 numbers. Until then, you will be charged at your current rate. |

On Three PAYG, to get the AYCE data addon for £15, do you need to top-up a minimum amount before buying the addon or do you just need a PAYG SIM then buy the addon?

Just changed contracts as my daughters "One Contract" has run out.
Got for this for same price as I was paying. AYCE Data, Unlimited Text, 200 mins + 2000? 3 to 3 minutes. SIM only for £15. Tethering limited to 4G. She is happy with this as she never talks and I don't get stuck with big data bills. j. |

Standard plan other than the 3-3 minutes, are you sure you got those? I haven't seen Three offering them for a while.
They've never offered them to new customers (apart from the one plan) |

Three always offer either 300 or 2000 3-3 mins to existing customers. It's literally a tick box exercise.
They've never offered them to new customers (apart from the one plan) This is what Three told me in December: Quote:
The price plans that were available to you were our standard plans. And when I asked if anyone had been offered anything different, they said:Anyone involved in the migration from our older plans are being moved to our standard ones, all of which are available through our website. Quote:
Just to confirm, our price plan migration is giving the customers affected the chance to move onto one of our standard plans. I can’t comment on any individual cases, but our position on this matter won’t change.
Must be a change of policy or a freakish coincidence that all 3 (+ me) weren't offered them. TBH, I wouldn't have stayed even for unlimited calls. |

I wasn't, and I know 3 other people who have left Three in the last month, none were offered free 3-3 as a part of a new contract by retentions.
If it's an automatic migration then obviously you won't get the 3-3 calls as everyone is just being moved over to a standard price plan (which is the same for new customers) But for example if you rang up (not glasgow) and ask to upgrade onto a new price plan (has to be 12 months If I remember correctly) then you can ask for 3-3 calls as well and they'll add it on at no extra cost. Should they say no then they're an idiot and should be fired on the spot. Ok maybe that last sentence is extreme but freebies should never be denied haha. |
