If it's an automatic migration then obviously you won't get the 3-3 calls as everyone is just being moved over to a standard price plan (which is the same for new customers)

But for example if you rang up (not glasgow) and ask to upgrade onto a new price plan (has to be 12 months If I remember correctly) then you can ask for 3-3 calls as well and they'll add it on at no extra cost. Should they say no then they're an idiot and should be fired on the spot.

Ok maybe that last sentence is extreme but freebies should never be denied haha.”

Here is an obscure one I was thinking of asking for when my contract is up in May. Will Three's Retentions team allow you to have Free Text Message Delivery Reports? Standard charge is 1.2p where as Vodafone and O2 don't charge for this.

Nope.

That's a standard charge. Can't be removed.

You can ask them. Just don't expect anything.

OK will ask but looks like the answerer will be no. One of those things that a recurring discount cant be added to. If you don't ask you don't get I suppose. When will the new plans be announced must be imminent!

I phoned in September to upgrade from a 24 month contract (with phone) "One Plan" to the £15 12 month SIM only plan (200 mins). I was just told it included 300 minutes to other Three numbers - I didn't ask for it or really care!

Yes got 2000 3-3 Minutes included for free. (Should be £10/m)

As said I'm an existing customer.

lol.

I do love it when "customer service advisers" blatantly try and lie to me with crap such as "3-3 calls cost £10 but we'll give it to you free".

I was once told that they were going to throw in the charger and a memory card for free when it just comes in the box of the phone anyway.

Whilst I know when CS are talking crap, others do not and usually believe or go along with the story their told.

Moto G doesn't include a charger on any of the handsets. O2 I believe is also removing chargers (or getting manufacturers to not supply) on their smartphones.

They seem to believe the world has enough chargers already

This was years ago when memory cards with phones was a thing.

But yeh, O2 have been doing that for a while now.

Good on them. I must have over 50 micro USB chargers now!

I have about 30 micro USB cables, but only 3 chargers (and 3 devices). I did once have a blackberry charger with a captive cable, but all the others take a USB type A plug, so work with anything. I have two 1.0A phone and one 2.1A tablet charger. The moto G is often charged with an iphone charger.

The problem of not supplying chargers is that it encourages people to buy cheap crap from eBay, some of which is downright dangerous. :-/

With varying power outputs and compatibility, presumably

(e.g. Apple's proprietary way of signalling high power charging vs. everyone else's)

It's worse when people buy cheap Apple chargers thinking that they're fine, but are actually terrible counterfeits.

(so bad, IIRC, that Apple actually offers a discount on a genuine charger if you hand them the fake?)

All compatible and all original chargers, but definitely different outputs, from 0.5A through to 2-2.1A.

Now I need to get a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2 compatible one that has a higher voltage output too (used only when a device confirms it can take more juice).

I thought Sony used that approach as well?

Yes, some are amazingly bad. Fake's from China. There are similar problems with Samsung chargers as well.

Li-Ion batteries are scary things due to energy density, and I'm fairly sure all the problems with batteries in Apple, Samsung and other phones has been down to fake chargers :-/

Well all of the problems with e-cigs have been with the chargers starting fires and nothing to do with the actual e-cig itself.

Of course that didn't stop the anti's making statements that e-cigs are dangerous!

Has anyone managed to get a cheaper lower plan deal than the £15 one? I might stay with Three if I got the next package down with unlimited data for under £15 with some 3 to 3 minutes.

Is anyone allowed to stay on the one plan? I was forced to move to unlimted with 4gb tethering but still pay £14, what I will say is I've noticed my 4g speeds in South London has improved substantially, I now get 20mbs when I struggled to get 3mb in November time. I would assume people of Mitcham were using the one plan as a home broadband replacement. Also 4g signal seems more reliable and not switching to 3G as much.

Are you both in or out of contract?

I believe only those out of contract are being contacted for now.
