I'm still in a dispute with Three. Spoke to their Executive Office team and said I'm not willing to be moved. I got a letter saying I'll be moved automatically next month.

I told them that if they offered me a killer deal under £20 a month for AYCE Data, Unlimited Text and Unlimited Calls, I would be willing to move. However, they said they can't do that.

I also asked the normal three team and they said I still haven't be given a date to be forced off it so not sure what the letter was about.

Has anyone managed to secure a deal with with them?

No, they will eventually just offer you a PAC if you won't agree to one of the new plans.

You can't force a business to sell you what you want at a price you want. You say dispute, but you really aren't in a strong position, you're out of contract and they have discontinued your price plan. They'll just offer to disconnect you and issue a PAC code.

Why would you want just one text message?

I have to side with Three on this. You can't demand what you want for a price of under £20.

Three is perfectly entitled to terminate a contract. As it is, it wants to keep you on a new plan and I assume that when I get a letter I'll be told what that plan is.

If I don't like that, I can either ask for a better plan for the same money or leave. Three clearly doesn't care if I go, or anyone else for that matter, believing that in the long run it will be better. I'm reserving judgement on that, but - hey - it's not my problem.

While I think it's perhaps mad to risk losing tens of thousands of legacy tariff customers, possibly even more than that, Three has presumably done the maths and worked out it's for the greater good. But it's interesting that nobody else thought to do this (Orange, T-Mobile etc).

It has to be at least 15GB of data to be some value for money for just under £20 per month payment. Preferably AYCE data with at the very least 300 minutes and 3000 texts.

So you want them to make a custom price plan for you? 300 minutes, 3000 text and 15GB data plan for under £20 doesn't exist.

Indeed, you can't demand what you want for any price. The decision is completely their's whether they want to sell you any particular product at any particular price.

Well, you can demand whatever you want... doesn't mean you're going to get it of course!

I demanded a fully fuelled 747 - with crew - on an isolated runway, £1m in untraceable bank notes and 10GB tethering.

They outright refused the tethering. Bastards!

I take it you'll demand to land in a feel at home country too?

You should demand that you be allowed to use your 10GB tethering in any country on the planet.

I don't really get the need for unlimited data. I connect to local hotspots when out and about and only rely on the mobile data when I have too.

People want it (as opposed to genuinely "needing" it, so that they can watch Netflix, etc on the way to/from work etc and also so that they can tether whenever they want to, to either do the same, or use it whenever they "want" to (for whatever reason).

IMO, pople have become accustomed to it and found things they can to to take advantage of it, rather than having a genuine "need" for it.

I had the One Plan up until recently, but once I heard things were changing (and the lack of 4G) I moved to EE and I've since discovered that I don't even use 5 gig of data per month (even though I have a 10 gig allowance).

Unlimited data is nice on a handset, but in reality fairly unnecessary when there's a 4 gig tethering allowance.

I think 3 will move to the 'allowance' model, where you get a set amount of data and you can use it all to watch Netflix on your handset, tether every single gigabyte to watch it on another device, or use it to do both.
