I don't think anyone really knows when its ending. I've read so many different things now, some said last month for AYCE 15 and some said its not ending.
old Sims have been withdrawn and they're waiting for the new ones for the new deals. |

Guy in the 3 store told me and then said he wasn't suppose to say. Apparantly all the
old Sims have been withdrawn and they're waiting for the new ones for the new deals. |

Sounds funny to me. a) Why wouldn't he be allowed to say, and b) Its an add on so why is it sim dependent. Maybe he was just trying to sell you a sim or something.

As Jabbamk1 has said many times, never trust a Three store employee when they tell you what is happening, they typically know nothing and / or making it up!
they were all voided and were being sent back |

As for this one plan ending buisness sometime before the year is out i will be looking at a new device when my Nexus 5 hits its 2 year aniversary, i bought it out right and coupled with the one plan sim 15, im paying the equivalent of £28/month ( based on phone cost at £330+£360 for 24months of sim 15 =£690 cost over 24 months = £28.75 monthly cost ) I will be applying the same formula to decide on weather to take out a contract on my next device, or buy outright so it would be nice to know from the horses mouth at Three on whats happening with the one plan |

Three hit a big technical issue recently hence why the plan migration slowed down. (PM me if you want to know) Quote:
The same can be said of almost any store staff

If its a decision made by the same person who predicted the original 2014 4G roll out list, and also refreshing the Mobile Data tariffs then you may have months or years left!. Three's decision making, generally gets dragged out for far longer than an Eastenders' 'whodunnit'. |

Well my One Plan contract finished in three days. Want to keep my unlimited tethering so just going to keep quiet and not bother upgrading my S4 as it is fine.
How long have other people gone after their contract has ended before Three has forced them onto a new Plan? Just interested in whether I should get broadband installed. I have only been using 10 - 15GB a month but 4GB is far too low

Keep it as long as you can. No need to move off until Threebforce you off.
Just be aware you could be given notice tomorrow or next year. |

Unless I misunderstand you, isn't that false economy? You will be paying a contract price that amortises the initial cost of the S4, you could go SIM only for half the price.

Currently on the one plan 12 month sim only, haven't heard anything from 3. I wonder if they're notifying people in alphabetical order?

Hmmm... My one plan finishes at the end of this month, not ready to resign or really move at the moment so I'm hoping I fall under the radar, problem I have is if they write and tell you instead of a text or email I moved house a few weeks ago now and have not changed my address, don't want to change it just yet in case it wakes them up..

Lol I jumped ship too early it seems. Despite not being a heavy user I opted to leave before they force me off. On EE now witH 2gb data which is enough for me really. In a way I'm glad I moved off three because data speeds are horrendously slow and unusable at the best
Of times. EE is faster than my broadband so happy with that although it was good to have (largely unusable) unlimited data and not having to watch the usage lol |

Still on the One Plan, but when I do get moved to 4GB of tethering that'll do me just fine in addition to the unlimited handset data. |

My £15pm Three One Plan 12 month contract expired last December, I have been waiting to hear from Three with bated breath (nah not really...) and have heard nothing. I have never maxed out my usage. I suspect they are targeting the heavy users first. We'll see.....
I like Three but there is no 4g where I live or work so may move elsewhere when the time comes. Patrick N Worcs |

Recently there havent been any reports of customers being pushed from the one plan, have they given up? Quote:

As for 4G vs 3G in real usage terms I haven't seen much in the way of a difference, 3G from three seems to do just as good , if not better than 4G.And when comparing EEs 4G to threes 3G ( when the EE special offer sim was active) Threes 3G seemed faster than EEs 4G - ive managed 29meg download on threes 3G service a few times |

I don't really know what I'll do when I get the dreaded text message. I must have been out of contract for well over a year (more like 2 maybe?) But I'm still on the £15 one plan for the time being.
I am quite a low data user as I have good WiFi at home and use eduroam at uni. About 500mb / month is my average. In the past year the most I've used is 1gb. The least I've used is 130mb! But I love the fact I don't have to worry about it. I don't really need the tethering, but its really useful to have occasionally in an emergency (WiFi cuts out, or you find yourself somewhere with no WiFi when you really need it) What is going to piss me off is paying an extra £2 per month for 200 minutes compared to 2000 + 5000 minutes to 3 (or whatever it is). That is a massive drop in minutes! Not only that but I'd have to lock myself into a 12 month contract for the privilege?!? I rarely even use minutes to be honest - its more the principle of it. It is still good value compared to EE. What I think I'll do is swap to the 3 payg £15 deal until something better comes up. OK you don't get tethering but its much better vale than the £17 simo deal. And you're not locked into anything. |

I upgraded my contract Friday online and only found out today about the tethering limit on the new plan so I called them up just now and told them I would like to cancel the upgrade as I was happy with the one plan, only for them to try talk me out of cancelling upgrade and informing me that within next few months everyone would be off the one plan as other broadband providers are not happy about unlimited tethering and people are abusing the usage.
I got told on average people on the one plan use 2gb of tethering a month hence why they decided to give pay monthly customers 2gb tethering with the new plans. I cancelled my upgrade and now waiting for them to contact me talking me into changing plans as like they said everyone will be off the one plan within months. I pay £15 a month and get 500mins, unlimited data/tethering, 2000 3 to 3mins and 5000 text I have had this contract for 4 years and only reason I wanted to upgrade is so I can get a better phone as my phone is worn out. I wanted the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 it would have been £49 a month with unlimited data, mins, text and it would have been great as I go over my mins and end up paying £30/£40 most months with add ons but after finding out about tethering limits I decided to stick to the one plan as I have to use my laptop most days for work and I'm not sure how much data it uses so I will stay on the one plan till they force me off it lol |

Why would three care so much about upsetting and undercutting their competitors?

The customer service man I spoke to mentioned ofcom and how other broadband providers are losing customers and how they have to limit it to 2gb tethering as customers are abusing the usage. He said expect a call within next few months as everyone who is on the one plan would be advised to change plans, upgrade or cancel their contract.
What about all the landline broadband providers which provided unlimited data, why aren't ofcom bothered about them? |
