End of tethering on payg it seems, friend is blocked now with message saying such.
They've taken their time to sort their shtik out, but it looks like 'now' for the implementation. |

I just got a text the other day from Three telling me that there is going to be changes to my package so I gave them a phone.
They told me that the One Plan that I am on is no more and that I will be moved onto a new plan. Anyway I wasn't happy with what I got. My minutes have been reduced from 2000 mins talk time to a pathetic 200 mins and the hotspot tethering has been reduced to 4GB even though I still get AYCE data on my iPhone. I wouldn't of minded if I was getting this for the same price or slightly cheaper considering that I have been a loyal customer but what got me angry is that the new pathetic package they have put me on is more expensive and they refused to give me it at the same price. Basically I feel Three have planted a big creamy custard pie in my face. Have Three stopped giving loyal long time customers discounts. |

It's a choice between the Three plans as they are or your PAC. |

I think a lot of people will move to BT mobile as 20gb for £20 is the best being offered which is fine for mobike usage!

How much did they quote you per month for that?Quote:

If they allowed Tethering (officially) it would be even better. It's a shame that they don't offer a Mobile Broadband Package giving the same amount of Data for a similar price. |

BT's presence in the uk mobile telecoms market is very unhealthy for competition. |

I suppose it may be almost acceptable if there's no price increase - how much have you been quoted for that and is that a 30 day contract or a new 12 month sim only or something else?

I was quoted £17 per month. My old One Plan was £15 per month and yet I got vastly more voice minutes and hotspot tethering was unlimited on that cheaper plan.I signed up for the new sim only 12 month contract. I would of said my goodbyes to Three but every other phone network seem to be the same. I was interested in BT Mobile but there is no tethering allowed except for BT wifi hotspot but there is no BT wifi hotspot near me as it doesn't appear in the list of hotspots in my iPhone wifi settings. |

That £20 for 20GB per month is only if you are a BT fixed line customer. Otherwise it's £25 per month. But BT are trying to kill off the competition completely. They offer 3 tariffs. But none of their lowest 2 tarrifs offer in excess of 2GB. You would soon suddenly see that 20GB either disappearing or being cut drastically to a max of 3 or 4GB and certainly costing much more than the £20/£25 that it is for the 20GB if EE and BT become the only MNO's in the uk mobile market. That would be terrible. |

3 finally caught up with me today about my one plan
My average use over the last 12 months have been 700 mins per month 5GB of data......not sure how much of that is tethering 120 texts per month It's a sim only and I'm paying 20 per month. Got offered 600 mins with 1GB of data and unlimited texts for 25 a month and would not budge on price for this. Shocking |

People doubted me when I said this was still happening but it still is.
Like I said there were technical issues previously that meant Three had to stop their One Plan migration. (Those who I PM'ed can confirm). As always the plan is to move all current One Plan users to new price plans at RRP and limited tethering before March 2016. The only two options is to accept or leave. A third option is to ring their Mumbai or Pune call centres and bargain with them. The migration team (number you get on the text/letter) can't do anything about price but the guys in India can, especially if you make something up about how you were promised something different. Can't guarantee this will always work but those of you who want to stay with Three for the service can try it. But basically tethering is going to be capped. Pay as you go is next. |

Talking about price plans and stuff, why are the upgrade deals more expensive than the new customer deals? Doesn't make any sense at all!

I heard that handset tariffs will be going up to 4GB tethering, like SIM-only?
It's still not clear if AYCE data is going from PAYG, and quite obviously nobody from Three would confirm or deny it at their event last week. Now Three has some more effective ways to block tethering (as many people will now be finding with Android 5.n, so it's not just iOS) it might not be so much of a rush to make such a bold move (in terms of negative press attention) although the mainstream media has written virtually nothing about people being 'forced' off their old tariffs so perhaps Three has very little to worry about. I think that once Three dropped the One Plan, many people forgot Three ever used to (and still does to those still within contract) offer unlimited tethering! People do have very short memories in the world of tech. |

In what way? Tethering is already not allowed. End of unlimited data?
I'm surprised that they didn't do PAYG first - it would have been easier, no need to battle millions of customers since they could just withdraw the old addons from sale and let them drop off people's accounts within the next month (and it's clear that customer satisfaction is not at the top of their list anyway) If I get the call I'm inclined to just move to the cheapest 1 month SIM only plan. I have a Home Signal and I'd like to keep it but I don't want to commit to 12 months as EE are looking more and more tempting (and will be much more likely to give me 4G coverage) |

My one plan finishes in may and I pay £20 with a £5 discount included in that, bit worried about what they might offer me for sub £30 and I need 4gb+ but would be comfortable with around 8-10gb for peace of mind. I've ordered and received a EE sim and a Vodafone sim as they are starting to roll out 4g in the area soon. Adding credit to the Vodafone sim today to check out if 3g speeds are usable on my work route as to my surprise there was some at good signal levels, I've tried ee and there 4g is amazing but as it's the same masts it still falls back to the unusable 3g masts as three with there sub 0.02mbps speeds which is no good.

Surely EE must be looking at this and seeing this as a chance to grab some more revenue? All they need to do it reintroduce the 10GB sim only plan and they would grab quite a few customers from Three I'd imagine.

Jabba, it was said to me that they are aware that some people are still managing to get discounts applied but these were also on the hit list to be removed from accounts as soon as Three could do so. No discount is safe in the medium to long term.
For the new price plans if there is a discount applied that discount will stay. There are always exceptions to the rule and so even though Three no longer offer discounts on their price plans (apart from pre-set deals/offers) they can still provide them to existing customers with poor coverage, billing issues, complaints etc.... Of course I'm not saying that you can just ring up and upgrade to an iPhone 6 with a £10 discount every month. That's not possible at all. But as an existing customer moving to a new SIM Only plan they do have flexibility in pricing if you ring India and speak to them about it. Of course you'll just move on to a standard plan if you do nothing. Quote:

Basically Three are trying to demonstrate value by saving you money today (but ultimately screwing you into paying more over 24 months). Quote:

There will be changes. Quote:

Three's recent research shows that no one could possibly ever want more than 4GB and 4GB is loads of data that will last you 1,000 years. Therefore Three are doing you a favour by capping tethering at 4GB and increasing your tariff cost so they can show how great value the network is. Aren't Three great! Quote:
