We won't start seeing cheaper prices until after 2018 imo.

Same, though the phrase "borrowed time" comes to mind. I use ~10GB/month

I am due a phone upgrade and my 3 contract is for Ultimate Internet 500 which includes, All you can eat data, 500 mins and 5000 texts which I pay £33 a month for. Went to a 3 shop to see what phones I could get on a similar contract and was shown 4 pretty poor spec phones, As I mostly use my mobile (Samsung Galaxy S4) for the internet, having loads of talk time and texts is a waste of time for me. Really considering leaving 3. Any other providers offer a good monthly internet package?

Well that was expected...

All in One 20
Price £20
Minutes 300
Texts 3000
Data All‑you‑can‑eat
(lasts 30 days).

Absolutely no benefit to the All-in-One 15.

Finally...
Disappointing to see no replacement £15 add-on just a £10 and £20 add-on.

I like the way they try and act like they've added a bonus:

'Our new All-In-One 20 Add-on will give you 300 minutes, 3000 texts and All-you-can-eat data for up to 30 days. What’s more, you can use your Add-on allowance to use your phone abroad at no extra cost in 18 destinations worldwide when on holiday'

Not like you could do that anyways... PAYG customers ain't going to be happy... I can already see rage on their Facebook page.

Some unhappy customers :

Showing exactly why #makeitright was too early, or rather why things like tariff changes and VoLTE have come too late.

They could have at least offered something at £15 instead they have more or less tried to force people into contracts, even charging £16 for a 12 month contract with 4GB days of data is a stark difference to what they were offering.

You can get last years flagships such as the G3, M8, Z3 compact for between £31-39 on O2/Vodafone with between 4GB-6GB of data.

Interesting. This was different to the plan I saw back in February. Three must have decided not to screw over their customers as much as they were originally planning to.

I love how they put makeitright at the bottom of a price increase. I'm starting to wonder if all this is one massive joke from Three.

It's either going to go two ways...

1) Three customers anger their frustration and refuse to pay for the 'All-in-one 20' and move networks as there's absolutely no difference nor benefit to the all-in-one 20 compared to the all-in-one 15 apart from the price change. If a lot of users move and impact Three they will likely do something about it.

2) Three have realised that their network is getting more congested with people using vast amounts of data and are needing the extra money to re-upgrade masts to support the never ending mobile data usage and tackle congestion, speeds and coverage. Three knows that offering unlimited tethering was a bad idea and maybe they're trying to use the money to make a rock solid network. The problem is.... Is this going to raise to £25 in the next year? or £30?

Probably a way to get the customers in fixed contracts or looking to make even more savings from freeing up space so they don't need as many masts.

Maybe it's getting the data rates down to o2 levels

3. Three gain more customers and gain more money.

If there is one thing I've learned during life its that corporations will screw over their customers as much as they can under the pretence of "making it right". Of course not al companies are like that, but they all reach that point when they get big enough.

It's pretty safe to say that once the 8GB tariff is added to SIM only this month, AYCE is going to jump up in price. I wonder how much by? £5 a month?

Any bets?

It needed to happen though, to be honest.

Just strikes me as a strange time to launch the 'make it right' campaign when some of these tough decisions needed to be made and enacted.

Well not really as they have built a brand on budget image. Now they are trying to change the position of the brand and probably will just drive more customers to BT or EE.

Some on here won't like me saying it but unlimited data should not be offered at such a low cost, it's a great offer and people have had it very good but £15?
three have a very good network it's just being crippled by to many users using too much data. There perfectly entitled to do so so there's no point ruining things further with more aggressive traffic sense management. It's the price point which needs addressing if they want to be a premium network somewhere above £30 would be about on par for unlimited data. Then offer more levels of capped data below that 5,10,15 and 20gb or 30gb.
On that link offering 500mb for £10 then unlimited for £20 is just idiotic!
All this should have been done end of last year coming into force though out this year along side a better 4G roll out and 800mhz to help support and justify the price model change. But three haven't done this, there still fannying around somewhere in between, anoying all its customers by constantly delaying and moving 4g launch goalposts, tinkering with plans but not solving the huge data use problem and letting the network grind to a halt.
Introducing this make it right campaign when so many issues are still outstanding is frankly rediculious.

I am thinking of taking up the £20 tariff on the PPN's with the 31GB data for both my lines.

My data usage is not very hight but I am getting fedup with the black spots and almost no signal inside my office building. And to make matters worse there is no 2G from Three.

I was waiting for the 800Mhz to be switched on but it doesn't look it is going to happen anytime soon.

Does anybody know if there is an ETA when the the 800Mhz will be switched on?

At the same time I am worried about MVNO's like PPN going out of business.

If your going to choose an MVNO then I'd go with one of the bigger ones. That one you mention always seems to be doing strange offers and only ever promoted online.

I found the People's Operator SIM to be just fine. 31GB of data, albeit 3G only right now, is pretty good for £20 with unlimited calls and texts. Not for everyone obviously.

And 800 on Three was always stated as being launched in September so nobody can moan just yet. It's only the start of August!

The whole need to change the tariffs (and I have always said £15 was too cheap as well) suggests total disorganisation or disagreement within Three. If you need to start charging more to be more like the big operators and move away from the 'small guy' image, you hardly do it alongside a clever 'make it right' campaign that suggests you're going to be more rebellious and cut costs to make things better.

Making it right is actually making the network better in terms of company finance and network reliability. Neither are actually bad things, but it's hardly what is being marketed to the general public.

It would have been better to make these changes all in one go, weathered the storm for a few months and then moved on. All we have now is a series of annoying decisions that can't be helping Three.
